I like the Forest grey but would be happy with white too.. Can always wrap it myself.. Can't decide what to do break wise.. I'm used to foot break as rear but not sure if it would be just as good just to have it as a hand break.. what did u go for?? Are you getting proper road tyres as welll?

I went for handle brake cause it will be better off road and in technical stiff. You can focus more on body position and riding by not moving the leg... No road tyres for me I'll be riding it at venues and green lanes along my area.
A lot of people have praised the hand brake... But it's up to you

It is tomorrow, I have an early meeting 7am so I have to be in the office but they will send me a 2 hour slot for when the bike arrives. One more sleep.

Gents, bike arrived around lunch time today, I adjusted the handle bar and checked the levers etc and got geared up and went for a spin.
The first 10 minutes are weird... Nothing to shift or to do with the legs at all... .. Around 8 miles of road section up to the byway I was using today... It took about 14 min and 14 percent battery to get there, this is going at 40 to 45 mph...
I played there for around 1 hour and 15 going up and down trails.
The electric drive train is amazing, it is smooth and not having a clutch or gears is so cool and easy to ride, it can do slow stuff amazingly well but also very easy to lift front wheel before obstacles ( 35 hp mode, I didn't need more for today). I was surprised how quickly your brain adapts to brakes and no clutch. Fabulous I thought...
Suspension : first impressions that is was harsh, not soft like my ktm 1090 advr... But after a few miles I understood!! It shines on high speed sections and jumps. My good you can ride this over whoops like nothing, high speed stuff is very good and I think once I adjust the clickers it will be great.
The dealer suggested to go for medium springs although I weigh 105kg with no gear.
Brakes are amazing and having the ability to modulate the rear brake by hand is game changer, after 15 min you get used to it loving it.
Weight is gone as soon as you are moving and the bike turns like a 125 and behaves like one
Range after a first ride : 16 miles on the road and 13.8 off road average 20mph, battery used 65%, total miles 29.8. I'm happy with this and noticed how battery is draining very hard when riding constantly at 40 to 45 mph.
Bad points : side stand!!! Short, is there extension available?
Bike is narrow, need to get used to new riding position and finding the balance for gripping the bike with legs.
Finish and engineering gone into the bike are amazing and I'm surprised.

Thanks, just took an interest in tracking the progress in VIN numbers to get some insight in their production numbers, that's all. There's a thread dedicated to this
Highest VIN I've seen so far is 88XX but as it's in the US I assume latest European batch must be close to 10 000 which is insane. For instance Alta made 1000 bikes in 3 years, unsure if KTM sold even high hundreds after 10 years of Freeride...

Dealer mentioned a batch change of motors and batteries around 1600 batch numbers if that's of interest.
He did say I have the motor that been build by a different supplier with some improvement but don't know what that was. It's a gen 2 with a short side stand .
The bike is overall amazing and there's a fix for that I've found, just need to get it

And I am almost certain you won't miss a clutch at all. The ride by wire capability of the Stark is mind altering. Side stand is very mediocre I am surprised they didn't ditch it since they have been making ongoing improvements. You need a rock or a high spot to use the stand with any confidence one of the few disappointing things.

I used the stock tubes and tires (what does the gen2 come with for tires/tubes?), the plastic tubes were shot after about 5 rides they couldn't withstand enduro rocks and log hops very well at all. My bike came with Pirellis which were better than I thought they would be and with added IRC heavy duty tubes they are working pretty good for the time being. When they are worn I will switch to a more gummy like IRC JX8s.

Thanks a lot. I am still on the original tubes and I've done a just a few outings. Didn't check the tyre pressure nor the brand. I think they are pirelly tyres but I will check next time I'm in the garage. Also do we think they changed the tubes for gen 2?

Second day out on the bike, had a bit more time today then last time and made some adjustments to the suspension...
My bike has been bought with medium springs although I weigh a lot more than 85 kg, that was what the dealer recommended and I went with that. Firstly the suspension as it came was a bit to harsh for the slower stuff and was shining in the jumping and high speed stuff. I have softened all the way to zero and added 2 clicks on everything towards hard.
For now this is sublime, works amazingly well and it's not harsh but amazing and you can feel and push the bike so easily... In love
Still riding in 35 bhp and 50 regen for me seems to be the sweet spot... I will dial in the rear sag maybe Monday as I'm doing an enduro day and might have time.
Battery is great for me, I've don't 36.9 miles today with 17mph average and 2 hours and 2 minutes of riding time and used 98 percent battery .
The big drainage happens on constant speed 40 mph... Which I have to do get to the green lanes but that's OK.

The confidence this bike is giving you once you start to gel with her is absolutely insane. Focus on the trail the braking and ride.. So easy to lift the front as well and it just so well balanced... Just brilliant.

Spend the money on one and don't wait it's a weapon
