Power curve and traction control adjustability ?

I’ve had my Stark for over two months and have about 25 hrs on it. One thing I really wish we could adjust is the throttle sensitivity. In my opinion the throttle needs to be snappier at the lower HP settings and needs to be less sensitive at the higher HP settings(for woods riding).

I’ve heard Stark speak of “power curve “ and “flywheel” customization But nothing to date. Anybody know if and when it’s coming?

They haven't promised any dates, which wouldn't be met anyway, so as a Stark owner, you should already be very good at waiting!
Power curve and flywheel will be nice, but I am really hoping for the reverse mode.
Anton said in an interview he had reverse working on his bike. I have it on my Ultra Bee, and it's one of those things that once you've had it, you don't want to give it up.
The US Stark rep told me that reverse can be incorporated with a software update, you will hold a button, and turn the throttle forwards to activate it.

I am looking forward to this as well, I have found 40-45hp good in the woods. It is possible to make the 80hp setting usable though with "power curve/flywheel" adjustments, this would be of great benefit for flat track racing, it's too easy to lose traction as it is at 80hp.

I agree. 80PS is like a wild bull. Just go straight through the terrain with force, everything else is difficult.
I want to ride with feeling on the flat track. :muutt:To do this, the torque has to be adjusted via the throttle grip.
I hope that there will soon be an update for the manual adjustment of the throttle valve and flywheel!
I hope that Stark Varg is reading this and understands that it really is time to do something about it. I hope so. 😉

I only woods ride and find that the throttle response is way to slow at the 40-45 hp in my opinion. It takes a lot of effort and throttle input to get the front wheel to lift over rocks, roots, logs etc.

For that reason I typically ride in 53hp or higher which can be a handful at times. Having a throttle sensitivity adjustment would be great in this case. Everyone could adjust it to their liking and conditions.

Lets hope it comes soon.

Hopefully everyone’s ready for $19.99 subscription for basic. With basic you can adjust throttle sensitivity and get reverse. $50 is premium and you’ll get race mode and access to tune your bike to your liking across all power levels. Also your limited to 15 hours of riding per month or you have to pay for any data overage beyond that.

Also, anyone who has a bike that’s out of warranty will get a 10% discount on any part failures if they have a premium subscription

Hah.

Well written.
It's still April, right?

I’ve been patiently waiting for a year for the added power curve and traction control adjustability….it’s been crickets from Stark on this.

Anybody have any update on when we might se the power curve and traction control adjustability?

Frankly I’m pretty mad at Stark, between the $3k price reduction and the lack of progress on promised features, I feel like the early adopters like myself got screwed.

I've been patiently waiting for this as well! I do understand what you are saying but at the same time you have to be proud of yourself jumping on the vagon to support a start-up company and you are part of the few that take a risk at the beginning. I think the software updates will come and there's hopefully going to be more features coming up when the enduro model turns up... And all of us will probably benefit from it.

Long story short. There is the main outfit that is Stark Future in Barcelona. There is also Stark Electronics in Zagreb; we developed all the electronics and firmware (not including the hardware enclosures and wiring harness). We (Zagreb) used to be called Cognitio Elektronika. We changed our name as a business agreement with Barcelona. Some time after the bike was developed Barcelona decided they could not rely on an external company and wanted to have the electronics knowledge in house. About a year ago the people they hired in Spain took over most aspects of the bike, including firmware.

So basically we can write firmware for the bike, add features, etc. We can load this firmware/software into our development bikes. But we have zero control over the firmware that goes to customers.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
Did you ever test throttle curve adjustment and/or traction control?
Edit: And are you still doing anything for Stark?

I’m starting to think we’re never going to see the power curve adjustability option available to us. There was talk about this being a pay for option? It’s been crickets for a while.

Well it's also been mentioned in the Varg EX launch video so could mean it's finally ready for release or just more waiting, we should know more around the time of first deliveries in a couple of months. If they do it there will obviously be a video about it.

About the paywall, they must have sensed the pushback but no clue if that's still the plan (IIRC they've mentioned the paywall again for race mode but didn't materialized for this either... yet).

I hope they reward some of the early depositors with the power curve adjustability for free…as many others I wasn’t thrilled with the massive price reduction a year after I got my Varg.

Sorry but no "hope" or "reward" about it this is advertising standards we were promised it and no mention of extra charge so should have it.
We need to start standing up to this the more stark see they can walk all over us the more they will do it.

Around 7:30 power curve talk

I have 13/47 sprockets and like better than 14/47
"it must have power curve settings" Er no....thats what we thought/were sold.

@ 2 minutes."Simular to a 450 mx bike with a full tank of gas"
Mx GP race is 30 minute + 2 laps so 35 minutes, Stark has 16.5 minutes of usable power at 50hp with the rider wanting more power, so less than half the range of a full tank of gas confirms what we are seeing at a slower pace.
