Rear tire options

I have about 15 hours on my Varg, and about 10% of the knobs on the rear tire have been torn off. Otherwise, the tire is wearing well. Has anyone found replacement tires the hold up better? The stock tires for the MX version are Pirelli Scorpion MX32 110/90-19 Mid Soft.

Tyre choice depends so much on what terrain you're riding and how long you want it to last.

Round here I'm riding enduro in dank slippery forest. Everyone uses the Mitas XT754 soft gummy with Tubliss at 3 psi. That's unbeatable for our ground but it'll last maybe five minutes on a hard MX track.

Sorry, I assumed that the use case would be obvious as Motocross since other uses would not be tearing tires apart.

@TCMB371 Brian and I switched coasts. He moved east and I moved west. I am running his favorite Bridgestone Soft/Intermediate tires on my local Arizona and SoCal hardpack tracks. I am wondering if he switched to Dunlop Soft tires on his new East Coast home tracks.

Try Bridgestone X31 if your local track is a hardpack that tears knobs off. These tires are soft/intermediate but they still work okay if the track gets a little muddy.

Still prefer the Bridgestone Battlecross X31 here, although some tracks here are really soft and somewhat sandy. The x31 is just a great, all around tire. I have a set of Battlecross x10s ready to try for the ClubMX open house where it's quite soft.

Ran the Bridgestone Battlecross x10 this weekend at ClubMx. Conditions were a mixture of soft but packed red clay, soft and ripped deep red clay, and sand.

Back tire is awesome. It seemed to have similar grip to the x31 on the packed dirt and just had tons of traction in the sloppy stuff and in the sand. I think I might be running this tire all fall and winter here in the Carolinas, then go back to the x31 rear when it starts getting hot again.

Front tire was okay. The knobs are really skinny and soft and made the front end feel heavy and somewhat wallowy on packed dirt, but I guess that's a good thing in sand. Initially I didn't like it all that much but thought it performed well in the really loose stuff with a lot of tradeoff on packed dirt. I may want to try the x31 front with the x10 rear.

Pirelli stock tires are my new favorites(Stark my introduction)- Northern cal tracks. Yes they wear a bit faster- follow Keefer recommendations on psi- min 13.5 psi- softer sidewalls . Dunlop is the tire most use here. I have 16 hrs(3-4 20” motos per week- almost 3 months for me)no chunking, but ready to change out. Couple other guys othg have tried and now swear by the Pirelli. No one wants to go down because of traction issues- especially us old guys. I will take shorter tire life with better traction. Stark has front rear combo for 150$( great price)- 30$ shipping- I ordered 4 sets to offset. Local ex pro did back to back test( vs Dunlop)- Pirelli preferred - “ I would rather stay up and replace more frequently “.

I put a Bridgstone Battlecross X40 on it. Unfortunately, I also had to put it away for the winter after only a few test laps. I'll have to wait until next season to see how it work out.
