Stark GPS tracking and geofence method

Idk about you guys, but it always bugged me that our bikes have gps and data connections yet I couldn't geofence it to be alerted of theft. So I finally figured out a workaround.. in light of the recent stolen bike thread I wanted to share it in case anyone else is like me and wants to use our technology to the fullest:

Step 1. Create a child account under your main one on google (I now have a Spanish child)
Step 2. Add this profile to your Stark phone at the OS level, making it your child's phone. Your main google account will remain the administrator, but to enable tracking you have to stay logged in as the child. The stark app still seems to work okay under this profile but with your normal google credentials to log into the app itself.
Step 3. Set up the google app Family Link on your personal phone, set your storage area as a 'family place', and enable notifications 'when leaving' to be alerted of any theft.

The only caveat I've run in to so far is that it uses a little more phone battery than normal. Stark has implemented some interesting phone charging protocols where the bike only charges the phone every 12 hours or so, and only for a brief period, so I found that this runs the phone down to zero after a week or two IF the bike's not being used or charged. However if you keep the bike on the charger 24/7 to always be ready for the next ride like I do, it also continuously charges the phone and keeps it at 100% no problem. In family link you can see your "child's" phone battery level so if a breaker trips or someone unplugs your Stark you can tell before you go to ride it the next time. This has been a huge help to me since I keep the bike in storage away from where I live. You also get a nice reassuring location bubble on your google maps at all times.

Sounds like a GREAT idea, I may try to implement this.
My other phone is an iphone, I use the chrome browser and gmail app, so would I still receive notifications?

My main phone is also an iphone, Family Link is in their app store also so no problem. I don't always get along with the notification system in iOS but that's another discussion.

OK, thanks, I didn't know that was another app, but your idea sounds like a great use of the available tech, thanks for sharing.
BTW, in case you are not aware of this, @Chadx found a way to keep a gps app on the varg phone screen open while you are riding.
