Stark Varg foot or hand brake?

I really wish there was the "Both Brakes" option. I really want two brakes!

This is very likely the same Brembo master and slave cylinders as on the Alta. So the dual brake option, as described here, should work perfectly.

I ordered the hand brake option. But I think I made a mistake. I might have to change to the foot brake option.
There is an option. We will provide it. Cheers!

Philip, looks like with the hand brake you get both. Might want to send them a email and ask them?

Your top arrow is the line to the rear Master Cylinder (from the rear caliper).... no dual option (look at the order page... you have to pick "foot" or "hand" ). However, we are already have one that will work. We are just going to match the Left hand rear brake master cylinder to match the correct Brembo front master cylinder brake for aesthetics + feel..... we already work closely with Brembo. We have a busy Q1... we are releasing 4-6 new LHRB models... this one is a cinch for us. Any further questions please direct them to support@oxbrake.com.

I would suggest changing to the foot. You can always add a LHRB. We willl have one on their release date, or they will offer it.

It’s easy to add the hand brake after the fact.

That’s what I did. That way when my buddies ride my Stark they can feel comfortable.

I ordered it with the foot brake, then I purchased a Brembo clutch master cylinder, added a line to the rear brake master cylinder and used a Clake adapter. +/- $200

I’ve had a LHRB for years on my 300 XC and love it.

I only use the hand brake on the Stark as that’s what I’m used to but it’s nice to have both.

I ordered with the foot brake and added the hand brake so I have both, I rarely use the hand brake but it is handy when going through deep ruts, especially on downhills. Probably be good if you get stuck on a hill as well...

I’ve been waiting for a response on the OX brake. I’ve e mailed and called, still no response. Might go this route. Is this working well for you still?

I have the LHRB on my stark and love it. I jut added the nicecnc oversized rotor but haven't tried it out yet. If you are interested in that kit, be warned the nicecnc rotor bolt holes are just slightly off. It still bolts on but it's a little tight.

I have gas bikes also, and an e-bike. So I have 3 different combinations of braking for my old feeble brain has to deal with. To my surprise I adapt pretty quickly. Just leaving my finger on the LHRB and consciously work it a few times out on the trail sets my brain to LHRB mode and I'm good for the day. IF I can do it, anybody can!!!

My advice is swap all your bicycle brakes to be "moto style" which is RHFB. I have run all my MTB like that forever. Only bicycles that were not setup that way was a 10 speeds I rode in high school in the late 80s. Have ridden dirtbikes since I was 10 (early 80s) and so when I moved to the mountains and started riding MTB later in life, I set them up moto-style (as it's called, since Motorcycles/dirtbikes have RHFB). Have never ran my MTB RHRB; always RHFB. Our stock Utility ATVs have also always been RHFB. And, most utility ATVs have both foot brake and LHRB. Then, along come eDirtbikes and happily, and naturally, they have RHFP and LHRB. That is how I ride everything so perfect muscle memory on everything I ride and keeps that all-important front brake on the right handlebar. Everyone that I know that rides dirtbikes have their MTB setup that way. Only thing to be careful of is borrowing or testing riding other MTB so the LHFB on a borrowed bike doesn't cause an "uh oh". Ha.

I got the hand brake on my Stark. I instantly fell in love with it. I thought the same thing that I would be all out of place going between clutch and non clutch, foot brake and hand brake. But it's super intuitive.

After riding multiple bikes (KTM 500, Husky TX300, 350FX, 501, CRF250F, Sur Ron LB) back and forth with the Stark on the same day, I can positively say that your muscle memory shapes up quick. Yes, there might be a very slight Oops every once in a while. But it's nothing that will get you in over your head unless you don't take time to warm up first.

I have specd mine with the hand brake as I think this is a game changer when it comes to modular braking on downhills and in general it allows me to have the feet in the same place and focus on the body position. Adding the steg pegz to the bike was something I didn't consider until someone here posted about then and made a video... This and the band brake are such a great combo and now I don't need to worry about how slim the seat is.. Loving it
