Stark Varg Frame and Motor Guards

search for CMTCOMPOSITI.COM the have the best guards on market... its carbon and expensive buit i use it and its awesome. search for the varg model on web

yeah, it will protect a lot more, but i dont really think is excesive expensive, its fair, and is it a very good carbon fiber with the perfect shape and minimum weight. I just bought the crankcase and the frame guards, these are the things that wear the most because of the boot

How are the carbon parts holding up? Any excessive wear? I wore a hole through the right side crankcase cover on mine. It's made by a different manufacturer, not CMT. Thanks.

I've been learning how to make carbon parts now, went down the rabbit hole on some youtube videos and bought a bunch of stuff to make moulds using a vacuum method. Made a few practice things already and figured it might be fun to make my own for the EX and might get them a little cheaper. That being said, it's quite a bit of effort and material costs to make them so the prices really aren't that bad. I'll take some pics of what I make and I might make a few extras for others if they turn out OK. Should be getting my EX in a week or so and can begin to make the moulds.

Has your part been approved by Stark? I recently had to return the excellent AXP skid plate due to potential of compromising the warranty.

No, it's not approved. But it's installed over the original one for reinforcement. I'm not sure if this will affect the warranty, since it can be removed before returning it under warranty. But anything can happen.

How much is the import fee on your skidplate?
Import fee depend on the delivery country. However, when registering a parcel, we indicate that it is a «gift» and value less than $100 to minimize customs fees. Anyway I can make a discount for members of this forum. (15%). Want to get honest feedback :)

Alex, your protector looks well thought out and well made. I have a couple of questions at the same time:

the OG Stark protector consists of two functional layers and is designed to protect the battery, which also forms a part of the frame structure. It consists of two parts:

1765918228115.png
the inner part, extruded polystyrene to absorb bumps / SMX1-F-SK-02 @ € 29.90 including VAT
the outer part, moulded polyamid / SMX1-F-SK-01 @ € 59.90 including VAT

What does your part, Skid plate for Stark Varg EX 2025 @ 140,00 €, smuggled into the EU to circumvent trade embargos, before customs and VAT add in value apart from more weight, labour, cost and supporting eastern European corruption?

Don't get me wrong, Alex: this is not a dig at you, the product or the idea of free trade. Every dirt rider welcomes improvements, no matter where they are from.

The Skid plate for Stark Varg will probably extend the life skidtime of the OG PA protector by about three times; but it will take a lot more than 140 € before taxes and tariffs, 15 or maybe 30 day to deliver; before it outdoes the OG Stark PA skidplate for € 65 including everything delivered to your doorstep in one day. With Stark Future honouring their warranty for the rider using the parts confirmed to protect the bike.

TL;DR it's probably a legit product with a dubious source with dubious logistics serving a dubious purpose with questionable economics and sustainability.
