Stark won't send me a rear handbrake!

I ordered the bike in January. Stark clearly said everyone who ordered the bike would get a rear brake (see
). It turns out there was a checkbox somewhere that asked if I wanted one that I missed. My bike arrived with no hand brake. I have contacted support thinking they would remedy this situation quickly - but they keep pointing me at the store where I can order one! Is this a joke? I put down almost $15k and waited 5 months (3 months past estimate) for this bike and they can't make good on their original promise.

Has anyone else had this issue? I keep hearing that the support is so great but this is absolute insulting garbage.

I never read that all US bound Stark bikes would get free LHRB only if you ordered that option. I may have missed that memo.

But
I ordered the bike specific with the LHRB option at time of order as it was a legitimate listed option along with tire and tube types, weight specific springing, etc. During the waiting period to order fulfillment, Stark CS informed me via email that turn signals, license plate brackets/ fairing, mirrors would be a throw-in item for regulatory reasons, and if ordered, the LHRB assy to self install. As you did not order it, your VIN’s assy BOM would not have indicated that they supply the LHRB assy.
Since we are a US order, they are required, I assume, to ship the bike configured to US regs eg: with foot actuated lever. Stark threw in the LHRB assembly as that's what I ordered. Had to install it myself though…bleeding was a struggle.

If you do get the LHRB assy from Stark, make sure you get the Brembo microswitch for brake light.
I’ve had relatively good response from Stark CS reps to my inquires. I expect that with EX now out, inquires to CS will be increasing significantly and response times will suffer.

That blows. If you can't get resolution from Stark, I'll bet there is a Stark owner who got the hand brake who would be willing to sell it - hopefully on the cheap.

Same exact thing happened to me. I missed the option to select hand brake. Th original launch video said all US bikes would receive a LHRB, just not installed. So I assumed it would come with it. So far their response has been, I have to buy one!

I contacted Stark immediately after ordering my EX bikes in December 2024. They said all US shipments of the EX have the LHRB because it is required to be street legal in the US. I received LHRB with my two bikes that arrived in May. My friend got his EX last week but no LHRB. It’s likely a supply issue. Both my bikes did not arrive with the rear disk guards or titanium foot pegs.

These bikes are amazing. After several rides in technical single track I could not be more impressed. Far better than my 250 2-stroke.

Any company that mentions "terms and service" in an email to an early adopter can shove it. I can't tell if this is AI or not but either way they've lost a customer. I had to spend $225 after already spending way too much on a motorcycle for a part that they claimed came free. Any good customer service team would recognize that this is an easy mistake to make when everywhere they say "US customer bikes must come with a foot brake but we'll include a hand brake for free" that many people would assume they have to select "foot brake" when ordering. Sheesh. This is so easy to make right.

Hi Sean,

Thank you for your input, we truly appreciate your feedback. We’ll make sure it’s shared with the relevant department.

We trust that you had the opportunity to review the terms and conditions presented in the video and on the bike configurator at the time of placing your order. The hand brake is included only if it was selected during configuration.

If there’s anything else we can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Best regards,
Stark Future Team

They absolutely said the EX would come (to the USA) with a foot brake installed and a LHRB in a box at no extra charge. That is how mine came and I didn't have an option to select a LHRB when I ordered. Sometimes, the LHRB doesn't know what the RHFB is doing...
