After much speculation, and various hurdles in delivery, customers were getting a bit anxious or angry at the lack of communication so Stark ended up doing monthly production updates on their Instagram. They appeared to have stopped that.

Here's a recap:

May-August 2023:?
Sept 2023: 500
Oct 2023: 520
Nov 2023: >800 (daily record 69)
Dec 2023: 1059 shipped

This likely sums up to about 3 000 Vargs made for 2023. Then Anton Wass said in an interview in February 24 that they were producing about 1 000 bikes a month.

So a steep increase in production capacity in a matter of months to reach about 10 000 bikes annual capacity. Should they sell that much that would probably be over 10% market share in full size MX bikes.

Anyway, point of this thread would be to track VIN numbers to see how this adds up. As of March 24, it adds up pretty well.

Haven't found much info for Stark Varg VIN in Europe but there are VIN above 4000 and even some above 5000 in the US. That should be February production (accounting for 4 weeks transatlantic shipping plus customs clearance plus road transport to the dealer).

Pretty much in agreement with Stark communications, so total production as of March 24 is probably about 6000 (3000 in 23 plus 1000 monthly in 24).

To put things into perspective, I think Alta total production in about 3 years was around 3 000 (correct me if I'm wrong, you're the experts here).
Edit: nope, turns out it was about 1 000 !

Please chime in, especially you get any VIN feel free to share approximate numbers (or online listings).

FWIW the cut off between 2023 and 2024 in VIN (letters P and R as 10th character, respectively) is somewhere between 2826 and 3155.

Yea that makes sense, I'm just over 3100 and I have a 2024. Paid in full the last week or two of 2023.

Varg 5635 listed in MT.

By the way, if you're looking for bikes in inventory or wish to locate Vargs available near you, motohunt is a great tool (only for US I think)

Of 10 states where Stark could not deliver as or January 24, there are now Vargs available at dealers in Colorado, Nevada and Pennsylvania (recent VIN, not demo bikes). So it appears that the list is dwindling but there are still potentially 7 states with issues: California, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio.
