Have you contacted Stark Future? In an interview, A. Wass said that when a Varg was stolen they deactivated it so that the thieves couldn't use it.

Yes I contacted them. I will follow up tomorrow. I asked them to lock/brick the bike. I have the title, phone, and police report. The Stark is not that easy to steal, the thieves must of had a truck or trailer close by, the bike was on a stand and rolling the bike far would be difficult. They probably 2-manned it. Also checking to see if there is any building video.

And operating a Stark is not that easy for the uninitiated like using crawl and reverse. Pushing it up a ramp or lifting it onto a truck could be done but not easily. I am guessing I was marked somehow and somebody either got my garage code or had a fob that worked. The police didn't think they used a window entry. Hopefully it will be found and not damaged. Somebody will be trying to sell it or get service once it is bricked, needs a phone, and has no title.

That sucks mate. if they are not dumb, they will probably just sell it for parts. Rims, suspension etc. I haven't heard of anyone hacking the software yet that would allow them to get it to run.

Unfortunately, they could have ridden it away if they knew how to turn it on.

They stole the heavy Stark stand plus another metal stand and a bunch of other chargers (DeWalt, Makita, Craftsman) so it would have been hard to ride it away. Also they were able to access the garage through the keypad so they either somehow got the code or hacked/snooped it.

And there were no track marks on the driveway or adjoining ground that we could find. The cops examined the grounds initially thinking in might have been a grab and stash, but there was nothing. The ground was wet here so there would have been some nob marks. Unless somebody was scoping it on my carrier or followed me the bike was never ridden on the property or even in the town I live in.

On reflection I am starting to think they might not have come for the Stark. I used to store my KTM and Yamaha in the garage but in early 2024 I moved them out to my brother's place. When they realized it was electric and not a gas bike they grabbed everything charger related. There would be no real reason to steal a DeWalt or Craftsman drill/tools chargers (without the tools) there was other stuff in my garage that would have been more valuable. And the Stark phone was right there with the small chargers and they didn't touch it.

I am thinking maybe druggers looking for a fast score turnover with an ICE Yamaha or KTM ended up getting an E-bike. I contacted Stark hopefully they can lock it and locate it.

All I have is homeowners with a personal property add on.

Since the Varg app shows a green bluetooth logo when the phone is close enough to the bike and it vibrates when entering or exiting the bluetooth reception range, your phone can be utilized as a detector for your Varg. You could give it to the police together with its charging cable and if they think that your bike is beyond a garage door or a fence this can help them a lot.

I'm so sorry for this, you sound like a cool guy and you've also mentioned some trouble in your life. Personally I remember many times in which I felt like shit and then after a track day with my bike I wondered how it was even possible to be unhappy. So Iet me get worried for you since I am rider, too and I know how it works when you can't ride: can you at least ride something else now?

Thanks for the kind thoughts and ideas. I will talk to the police about it. There were a number of car break-ins in the area of my garage that night. In fact, my neighbor who parks right next to me reported that someone had gotten into her car and rummaged around glove box and etc. The local police have been helpful and kind.

I have my mountain bike which the thieves did not take --though they could have-- and I am training for some road races this summer and fall some half-marathons and maybe a full marathon later in the fall. So I have activities on my plate.

My KTM and Yamaha now reside at my brother's house across the country along with my ATVs. Part of the divorce was ending up in a condo and getting limited time with my son, losing my house, losing my dog, and losing a lot of my stuff. Also my Stark wasn't just great as a bike it fit my now altered lifestyle really well too.

As you know it is not the same without a dirtbike -- dirtbike riding is like a breath of freedom, peacefulness, and joy (for me at least) all at the same time. I am girding for the worst and hoping for the best.

Wow, you've ridden 259 hours on the Varg and not ridden the 300 once? That's quite a testimony.

I'm still waiting to get my Varg delivered, but I had a similar experience when I started riding my Zero FX in the woods. I have logged around 8000 miles of trail riding on my Zero FX. Not sure what that would work out to in hours, but lets just say, it is a lot. In all that riding, not only was it the best dirt bike I've ever ridden, it was also the least maintenance. I did eventually run into a weird problem that took me a while to figure out. The outer motor bearing failed. $7 whole dollars to fix (after spending $1300 to shops who couldn't figure out what was wrong)

Also they are monitoring the VIN as the thieves will likely want to get a phone to sell it and they did not get my original phone. Once Stark gets your info into their DB is will be difficult to get anything with the VIN through Stark at least.

Please let me know if you see requests for help or questions about operations that seem suspicious (like my Stark will power on but won't work) or I lost my phone and Stark won't help me get a new one type of questions. Thanks & BR!!

Yes great idea!! My bike has Acerbis hand guards and an Acerbis black front lift strap with a Motobikes Plus logo on the front fender. It was taken as pictured with the toe-straps on the handle bars. They took the Yamaha stand its on as well as the Varg stand.

I will create a separate thread but if you guys see anything please let me know.
