VARG EX APP

I've tried split screen and pinning nav apps like GAIA and onxoffroad. Head North is the best solution. Picture in picture mode or full screen works great.https://headnorthgps.com/?fbclid=IwY2xjawQc-RlleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFNR0lQZ0pVaHVCMGFZUnl6c3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHtd9fhiZ70Gvps7FNwrWSEx2zD3x16LD9IW2OATYqqukUj182AwZEdhyKkAP_aem_87q9NCMIrSVSRvYYHc_8JA

As the workarounds have their limitations I created a small app optimised for Stark VARG. It lets you open the trail in a Picture-in-Picture window and keep it on top of the Stark dashboard. Once the Stark speedometer has locked Android navigation you can also open the app full screen for riding. More details: headnorthgps.com

PS! The page footer has links to additional guides about workarounds (e.g. Google Maps in a PiP window). The guides need a bit more work before public sharing but if you’re interested the content is there (missing pictures and better formatting).

Would it be possible to run the RaceChrono lap timer in such a picture-in-picture window? I use it for recoring lap times during training, and don't want to pay the extra fee for the Stark pro option. I haven't tried it yet on the Arkenstone, but it seems to run quite comfortably in split screen mode.

RaceChrono would need to add PiP support to their app and a few buttons to manage the Stark lock (each app controls it separately).

If enough people are interested I’ll consider adding it to headnorthgps.com once I’m done with the Trail features. A basic lap timer looks straightforward, but with all the GPS errors measuring a lap or segment time you can trust and compare with previous lap might become quite a bit of work and testing.

When I looked into it few weeks ago there are some interesting solutions (all have the same Stark lock issue)
- LapTrophy - Lap timer for motorsports and trackdays
- GPS Lap Timing App
- RaceChrono – Laptimer for iPhone and Android
- ...
