Need Help - FarDriver Controller Cutting Out on Jumps

Hello,

I have a FarDriver ND961000 controller on a 96 volt conversion I built.

Unfortunately the controller cuts out after I hit the face of a jump under heavy load (it cuts out mid air) - after you come to a complete stop it resets and you can ride again.

All other riding is normal like hard acceleration or hard braking.

I’m stumped, I have two batteries and it’s the same problem on both.

It happens when I lower total power as well.

There is no error codes stored in the FarDriver controllers so no way to trouble shoot.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I was able to get the controller tuned by a FarDriver specialist named Ryan Goodyear.

I bought the controller from E-Conic cycles which is a US based seller that offers post sale service, they connected me with Ryan.

The settings on FarDriver controllers are not intuitive and certain settings are very critical.

Nice controller in the end, very smooth power delivery.

Thanks for the reference Philip, but Vinsanity and I have been talking for quite some time about this problem and others. My Far Driver Controller experience is limited. So Ryan Goodyear is a good answer. I corrected my problem on my Votol EM260S controller by replacing it. There must have been loose nuts and bolts inside of it.

Yeah that's why I ditched my fardriver controller the tunning app was not easy to use. I sounds like Phillip is on to something. It could be when you spinning up the rear in the air it's tripping some kind of protection. I remember my QS138 would be screaming when you were getting the RPMs up. Anyway maybe try lowering the field weakening maybe?

Thanks for the feedback, who did you buy your EBMX controller from, also do you know if it can be used on a 96volt system. Appreciate you commenting.

I got my X-9000 V2 from Gritshift. The V2 will not work with 96V because it wouldn't work with my 84V battery. EBMX said there wasn't enough headroom for the V2. 81V nominal is all the V2 can handle. Suposedly the V3 can operate up to 120V so I would think it can handle 118V the voltage when the 96V is fully charged.

I will msg EBMX to doublecheck. I don't know if they have V3 QS138 harness yet also

Oh haha my math was off 96+12= 108

Somehow I thought it was 118.

Gritshift is in Florida so they might be closed right now. I don't see the V3 harness. The V2 and V3 are not compatible.

What I did is buy the Light Bee kit and then the QS race harness. But remember the V2 ism"t compatible with the V3.

Hey Don, thanks for the heads up about the EBMX connection. I haven’t fully tested the FarDriver, it appears the tuning worked but I haven’t tortured tested it yet. If it’s still having issues I will have to go the EBMX route.
