Slow technical terrain is what the Alta does best in my opinion. Mastering the throttle (not easy for those who have an ICE bike background, and used to tame the power with the clutch) is the key.

If I recall correctly, than a long press on one of the display's buttons, changes the reading from metric to imperial. That is how it works on my EX.

A friend's 2018 EX (A pack), also started showing the 35 & 36 error codes. bike runs great with no power or range degredation. theoretically, it may harm the battery and cause it to loose range, or even premature failure, but have someone experienced these failures already with 35 & 36 codes...

I am still debating with myself if doing the half throttlle mod was worth it. It does help with Whiskey throttle, but the price is hand fatigue. I got a new spare throttle, so I'll be able to switch back to stock full throttle, whenever I feel like it. For the time being, I am sticking with the mod.

As much as I love my Alta, I don't think it is the right bike for someone who's riding mostly sand at full throttle. It will be a fun ride, but also short.

I also started on map 2, but now settled on map 3 most of the time. I ride rocky hill climbs and single tracks. map 3 have a more punchy feel to it, that helps going over obstacles. that said, map 2 is great as well. I am using the SM maps, and I highly recommend them for this kind of riding...

Using the Oset mainly for Enduro. Range & rear tire are borderline for this kind of riding, but still a lot of fun.

These new Gasgas should be great. They are actually re branded KTM with some mods to make them a little less expensive. Very good value for money.

Than the 24r it is. I read that jumping the bike with a 90 kg + rider, may cause the suspension linkage to break. Keep an eye on that.
