Clearly the answer is not to change the spring rates. Just start hitting the drive-thru more often and put on 20 extra pounds. That will plush up the ride to the perfect comfy zone with zero mechanical changes, and you’ll have a bit of extra crash cushioning to boot.

Well, taking a look at the actual failure point of the subframe, it makes perfect sense why it would fail at these exact points. The cylindrical section where the bolts attach are very solid plastic, even without the metal inserts. But where the subframe transitions to the ribbed structures...
