Harley’s dilemma is it’s main demographic is shrinking and it needs to create a product that appeals to a different crowd. Die hard Harley guys won’t even acknowledge the Live Wire as a Harley if it ever comes to be, so not much worry of cannibalizing their ICE bike sales IMO.

When I was at Highland Park back in February I was talking to an Alta rep from that area that raced who may possibly be up for this. @datadog would you know who this is and how to get the word to him?

I just finished watching that full course video.... that's a really nice loop! 2 laps is definitely possible depending on the rider as you said. Then 1.5 to 2 hours max recharge time depending on what bike you have and how far down you ran it, which if making two laps it should be pretty low...

I'm intrigued. It would be possible for me. I'll have to give it some thought.

Here is exactly how the plug is wired on the 3.3kW charger as delivered;

The white is essentially the red in this configuration. Just focus on the connection at the chargers GFCI, there are only three terminals, when it’s connected to 120v white is neutral, on 240v white is the other 120v phase. Whatever magic happens on the other side of that GFCI is beyond me.

I have had issues with certain boots hanging up on that bottom edge/lip of the subframe. If those panels had the lower edge rolled under slightly I could definitely see a benefit to the design.

That for sure would work for 240v, my only concern (and I’m getting a little mixed up on which plug is which) would have been making sure white plugs into white, black plugs into black for the sake of 120v operation in case it matters for the charger, but since you already tried it as is then it...

Think of the new safety factor... getting thrown off the bike in water should be significantly less devastating to the body. There is potential drowning though...

That’s exactly what I was going to say. Harley partners with Alta to figure out how to get started in the EV game, opens a shop down the road and cherry picks Altas best talent. Pricks.
