Last week I messaged with the Alibaba seller (and I believe manufacturer), Jiesute, about the Storm Bee. They said they will begin selling the bike in March. Of course, their Alibaba page says it's available now, but time is relative I guess. Just FYI.

Yeah, I'm curious about the air-cooling. Will that effect battery-life? Do air-cooled batteries shut down if they get too hot? MX tracks don't provide a whole lot of speed to generate proper forced air...I wouldn't think.

That's a really good way of looking at it! If the bike can handle the rigors of motocross, then it should be able to handle most other challenges. There's a reason why most off-road bike designs are based off of with MX platforms.

All jokes aside, that thing looks like it has some decent power. And unlike most e-moto companies, they have good riders demonstrating the bike's capabilities. Also, I don't speak Russian, but if I'm not mistaken it looks like it has an electronic clutch...? Legit. I'm all about the modular...

Boost button? No thanks. Just give me all of the power all the time. I don't want to hold down an extra button just to get over a jump, that's what twisting the throttle to the stops and a clutch (if it had one) are supposed to accomplish. I saw that "TURBO" trigger on the left hand instrument...

I agree with you, although as I understand it, the Storm Bee will have some more standard parts than the Alta, so there could be an option to upgrade power, DIY-style. Of course I know nothing about batteries and I just read that in Electrek, I think. As is, it could be a fun bike. 30hp is...

No idea how much an additional battery would be, but it looks like they've made it very easy to remove and replace.
