Your insights are definitely helpful and worth considering, but I think the enthusiasm for e-motos right now far exceeds the interest in build quality. You're right, the current versions of the Storm Bee prototype do not look ready for, say, AMA professional competition. But most people...

News and updates from Sur-Ron seem to have pretty much stopped since the coronavirus outbreak. Really hope this is just a bump in the road for China and that they can get their economy back on track.

Nothing all that new or different, but this latest vid has me frothing. Can't wait to see some footage from a different MX facility or terrain with a pro-level rider.

I'd mentioned that before. Being that it's Alibaba and it seems many of their descriptions need to be read with an enormous grain of salt, it seems Jiesute simply copy/pasted the specs and photos from the KTM Freeride E. I messaged with the seller (Jiesute [a sizable online...

    Storm Bee

Last week I messaged with the Alibaba seller (and I believe manufacturer), Jiesute, about the Storm Bee. They said they will begin selling the bike in March. Of course, their Alibaba page says it's available now, but time is relative I guess. Just FYI.

Yeah, I'm curious about the air-cooling. Will that effect battery-life? Do air-cooled batteries shut down if they get too hot? MX tracks don't provide a whole lot of speed to generate proper forced air...I wouldn't think.

Nice find! Although it looks like they mixed some copy and images for the KTM Freeride-E in there too, which makes me wonder about the legitimacy of that listing.

Show me the pics of your most favorite bike!

Wow! Beautiful conversion. How much does it weigh? How much did the conversion costing? I really think there will be a huge market for these if any company is ever smart enough to create a standard option; all the components required to switch to electric the can just fit into any modern MX...

That's a really good way of looking at it! If the bike can handle the rigors of motocross, then it should be able to handle most other challenges. There's a reason why most off-road bike designs are based off of with MX platforms.

    Russian Milandr CM250?

This is my dream right here. MX that doesn't piss off the neighbor or destroy my ear drums (anymore than they already are, anyway). The Milandr is legit! Why haven't I heard of it until now?! Also, it looks like they're using a KX front end. Presumably the Air Forks that I'm sure they had...

    Russian Milandr CM250?

All jokes aside, that thing looks like it has some decent power. And unlike most e-moto companies, they have good riders demonstrating the bike's capabilities. Also, I don't speak Russian, but if I'm not mistaken it looks like it has an electronic clutch...? Legit. I'm all about the modular...

Here's a better image of that TURBO trigger. Still bummed it will be a part of the final design. Really hope it isn't.

Boost button? No thanks. Just give me all of the power all the time. I don't want to hold down an extra button just to get over a jump, that's what twisting the throttle to the stops and a clutch (if it had one) are supposed to accomplish. I saw that "TURBO" trigger on the left hand instrument...

I agree with you, although as I understand it, the Storm Bee will have some more standard parts than the Alta, so there could be an option to upgrade power, DIY-style. Of course I know nothing about batteries and I just read that in Electrek, I think. As is, it could be a fun bike. 30hp is...

No idea how much an additional battery would be, but it looks like they've made it very easy to remove and replace.

    Storm Bee

A good rider can make any bike look fast and a novice rider can make any bike look slow or clunky. I think we're looking a little more at the latter in this vid. Get a decent rider on a real MX track and I think the Storm Bee will be a fun and capable bike. Josh Hill would ride the wheels off of...
