    Mortch E-motos and YZ250F Conversion

I might just have to do that. It has the same motor in that smaller frame. I'd be amazed if they have one in stock to try out be worth getting in touch. Thanks!

    California banning dinosaur bikes.

A similar threat happened with the move from 2-strokes to 4-strokes. Essentially the EPA said that OEMs did not have to stop making 2-strokes, but if they did, and those bikes were found being used on public lands, the government had the right to forbid that OEM from ever selling bikes in the...

Nevermind, found it. Ashwood Motors which is now called Dana TM4, and they also build the Zero motors as well.

Elisava students create the first 100% electric off-road sports rescue motorcycle

Regardless of where it's filed, it's a beautiful finished product. Looks like it uses the same motor that the Electric Motion bikes incorporate. Does anyone know the stats on that motor?

MSC Engineering YZ conversion ready for track testing

I saw your post on FB, @DonCox. Really cool stuff. If I still lived in SoCal I'd be more than willing to help you out testing, photos, video...whatever. Really hope you keep moving forward with this build and others. If you're willing to put it in the hands of a local pro and get some video...

    Mortch E-motos and YZ250F Conversion

This guy converted his Ninja into an electric bike using the 4-speed electric motor. Gets 200 miles to a charge and goes 90mph. He does say it's notchy shifting and you actually have to completely let off the throttle to switch gears but otherwise it seems to work pretty well. Kawasaki is...

    Custom YZ450F Conversion

This guy just completed a beautiful YZ450 conversion that looks like it was a couple years in the making. Even got Brett Cue to take it for a spin. It's at least nice to see a builder use someone who actually knows how to ride (and ride very, very well) to showcase their bike's abilities. Check...

Thinking about getting another e-dirt bike: Which One?

From a mass production standpoint for the major OEMs, I will agree with you on your point. For conversions, however, I disagree. Standards are good to have for many reasons (mostly for safety), but for the moment and for conversions, I don't see why it would be necessary. If it's strictly...

Thinking about getting another e-dirt bike: Which One?

Already knew about Pohlbock and they are doing great work as well and something I'm considering. However, the one thing that so many companies have yet to accomplish (and I feel is the biggest miss) is a plug-and-play conversion kit, Pohlbock included. If there is a simple option that doesn't...

Thinking about getting another e-dirt bike: Which One?

Heard back from Mark yesterday. Seems likes a nice guy and is working on some exciting stuff. In short, he is attempting to make e-conversion kits that anyone can install and can handle A-level motocross and off-road riding/racing. Can't wait to see how his work progresses!

    Mortch E-motos and YZ250F Conversion

Thanks DonCox! Very helpful. His kit does look much better than the 4-speed option. I'll reach out to him.

    Mortch E-motos and YZ250F Conversion

I recently found this company on FB. They're a Chinese manufacturer making their own knock-off styled e-bikes as well as a YZ250F conversion that they're still working on. The unique thing here is that the Mortch motor is a manual four speed with a clutch. Curious what everyone's thoughts are...

Thinking about getting another e-dirt bike: Which One?

Keep me/us posted! All very interesting. I truly believe conversion kits are the way to go forward with e-motos at the moment. Why bother with chassis development when the major OEMs have already provided amazing platforms to work with? Focus on the power source instead and we can get to an...
