    Varg suspension

The 6mm ID shims are "extender" shims that raise the piston off the cup and allow the shim stack (8mm ID) to move before they deflect. That movement is called float. This allows the fork to move really freely under low velocity situations like in corners, while still providing a lot of damping...

    Varg suspension

@Lvproj just wanted to point out the effective differences. Fork: The two .30x15 shims at the bottom of your LSV stack are acting as spacers since they are larger than the smallest shim. We effectively have very similar LSV's with a 12mm clamp shim. Mine is slightly stiffer with the 19 and 17...

    Varg suspension

Had the first ride on my new suspension yesterday. I really love how the forks feel now. Gone is the harshness over small chatter thanks to the 0.25mm of float and stiff stack behind it. My confidence in the front end in corners was significantly better than stock. The front end is now very...

    Varg suspension

Going with the following shim stacks with RaceTech gold valves. I'm definitely no pro but on my Alta i tried RaceTech's A-class setting and RaceTech's Pro setting and the pro setting was a lot more confidence inspiring so i'm trying that first on my Varg. Interestingly, the shim stacks RaceTech...

    Charging speed issue

Well glad you figured that out! Something certainly didn't seem right.

    Rear tire options

Ran the Bridgestone Battlecross x10 this weekend at ClubMx. Conditions were a mixture of soft but packed red clay, soft and ripped deep red clay, and sand. Back tire is awesome. It seemed to have similar grip to the x31 on the packed dirt and just had tons of traction in the sloppy stuff and...

    General Poll, response appreciated

    1) no, I consider it taking advantage of electric technology. Screw the haters 😂 2) sure! 3) maybe if the benefits were high Question though. What's wrong with the method you used with Alta? Define acceleration limits, preventing the rear tire from spinning up faster than a set value. Just...

    New Stark Discounts/Stock Tube Issues

Im not sad at all. It was well worth the full 13k to have the bike delivered to my house May of 2023. I have no intentions of selling it so dont mind the price cuts. I might use this as an opportunity to scoop up a second Varg.

    Varg suspension

I rode Revolution MX yesterday and I like the new 1.05kg/mm combined fork spring and 6.0kg/mm shock setup. Balance is definitely better than it was before. I initially started with 105mm of race sag but that still felt a bit choppered out. I tightened up the preload in steps and ultimately...

    Varg suspension

Stark offers 3 different suspension configurations, and only vary by spring rate and clicker settings. The valving is exactly the same for all, and is motocross spec. The shim stacks in the Varg suspension are similar to a 2020-2022 YZ450 but with a bit more compression damping.

    Varg suspension

Just realized last Friday that my bike was delivered with the wrong shock. I'm supposed to have a G fork (5N 0.51kg/mm springs) and D shock (58N 5.91kg/mm spring), but i have a C shock with the 56N (5.71kg/mm) spring. I guess i never thought to check and expected it to be correct . I...

    Regen setting on MX track

I recommend setting all 5 maps to the same power setting and set each map to a different regen setting. 20,40,60,80,100 for example. Then flip up and down while riding to see what you like. Do one full lap in each setting.

    Rear tire options

Still prefer the Bridgestone Battlecross X31 here, although some tracks here are really soft and somewhat sandy. The x31 is just a great, all around tire. I have a set of Battlecross x10s ready to try for the ClubMX open house where it's quite soft.

    Regen setting on MX track

I run 15-30 regen depending on the track conditions. Hard pack I'll use 30. Soft/tacky I'll run 15. Regen setting definitely affects the off throttle pitch in the air.

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

Yup, i still have and ride the Alta, however it currently has a couple broken wirebonds that need fixing and the bike only charges to 80%. Really would love to have an entirely new battery built some day, perhaps with newer cells. Ergos on the bikes are much different. The Varg is more modern...

    Stark open ended hand guards

I run Acerbis X-Force on both my Varg and my Alta. On the throttle side I mount the bracket right next to the front brake MC and the arm goes over top the master cylinder. I then have the handgaurd mounted in the top slot so they sit lower, infront of my hands. For motocross they are great and...

    Battery price

I'd buy a spare battery if it were a bit easier to change it. With 2 guys working on a clean bike it's not that difficult. By myself with a dirty bike after a moto, not so much. I'd rather have a second bike.
