    Best Alta Generator

I don't think I've ever heard of a generator failing due to windings aging out before something else in the motor.

    19" front wheel on SM?

Same issues as going to SM wheels, the rims don't matter, the hub is the critical detail.

    Fog getting some air

Are you running into any issues with the pegs brackets hanging below the frame rails?

    Supermoto 17" wheels for EX(R) ?

The challenge is coming up with a spacer that won't sheer bolts on the rotor. If you use individual spacers on each rotor bolt, epic fail in VERY short order. A ring spacer will last longer, but Warp 9 told me they still had issues with the bolts in that arrangement. Spacing the caliper...

    Supermoto 17" wheels for EX(R) ?

In that case the only thing you have to watch out for if not getting an ALTA specific front wheel is the 7mm rotor offset from normal KTM pattern wheels. You can either space the rotor out, or space your caliper IN with slightly longer bolts and a spacer plate between the bracket and fork...

    Supermoto 17" wheels for EX(R) ?

The EX basically uses KTM pattern wheels, with a minor tweak on the front. Getting a rear to fit should be easy, lots of options out there, just gotta know the right year KTM to say the bike is (I don't recall off the top of my head but someone should have that in their notes.) Up front, again...

    Fast charger purchase

The fast charger is limited to the 'R' bikes only unless something new has been announced. The standard charger can be run on 220v to get a quicker charge on non 'R' bikes though. Read Judaslefourbe's post below, I was wrong.

Will the EXR qualify for the tax rebate like the EX?

Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt to race in the Erzberg Rodeo

Holy hell what a MESS and I'm not even two minutes in. I do NOT have the right mindset for that kind of scramble.

    Chain Slider failures

Based on the pics I'm thinking front slider near the countershaft sprocket.

Ty Tremaine and Lyndon Poskitt to race in the Erzberg Rodeo

I'm thinking it's the MXR not throttling back power till the pack is at a lower charge compared to the MX, so 30% more usable without being throttled capacity?

Clarification on standard vs. rapid chargers

I think this was discussed in another thread but short form: Both chargers pull 1600w when plugged into 110v, so same charge rate. The normal charger pulls 2700w on 220v, the rapid kicks that up to 3300w.

Best Map for least sensitive throttle.

My understanding is they do a form of TC by simulating flywheel effect. In simple terms the map may say X RPM @ Y Throttle means dump 50A into the motor but it's also watching the rate of RPM climb and backing off the power to match a rate of increase limit? So what you want is a map with more...

    Lyndon Poskitt's dual Honda generators

People have tested and you don't actually need identical units to pair them up, or go three way, four way, etc. Search on youtube, there are a few people showing all sorts of crazy inverter gen combos out there.

Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

'Accurate' on a Dynojet dyno is a bit of a misnomer... as is applying an SAE correction factor to an electric bike but I'll let those slide. :D Now repeatable I'll go for.

Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

Torque is either calculated based on RPM and the rate the drum accelerates, or if the dyno has a z-cell it can direct measure rear wheel torque.

Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

I think the estimates are slightly off, the HP should be reduced across the board as a result of the taller gearing. Remember we're looking at rear wheel HP, not estimated crank / countershaft HP.

Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

So, I'm now curious to see an SM with stock gearing on the dyno as well. The MX hit the advertised 42hp at the rear wheel geared for about 63mph geared 12F/53R. The SM is shipping with 15F/50R and listed as 42hp at the countershaft. I wonder what it's putting to the ground?
