What are the major problems of the MXR?

Given how badly most wireless protocols are implemented these days, I don't think I want to be worrying about someone shutting my bike off on me mid race for lols... :D I'd be more OK with a BT dongle that can be plugged in and removed as desired instead.

    Clicking sound when Idle

That was the first thing I noticed when I test rode the MXR, pushing it around while it was off feeling the motor cogging... was not expecting that after years of gassers in neutral.

Warnings on dashboard on new MXR

Hah, ubuntu for the firmware tool, nice! Now, is it wayland based, or still X11? :D

Once State Farm researched the MXR, they quoted me $23/mo for it vs $10/mo same coverage on my 2009 KTM 300 XC-W.

Maine is pretty easy, it's all light paperwork, the only inspection comes after you've got insurance / reg and even then only 30% of registered Maine motorcycles actually get an inspection sticker. So after figuring all this out, verifying financing and that I can afford it, there is a demo...

    Inverters (12V to 120V - 240V) and Step-Up Transformers (120V to 240V)

Step up transformers are REALLY simple hardware, the eBay ones don't scare me based on cost.

So in theory getting a plate will be pretty easy, $290 in excise tax, proof of sales tax paid, fee for new plates plus reg. Now if I could just find the actual invoice on an MXR so I could compare against MSRP to determine if it's worth trying to play the sales game or just accept the book...

    Lifan 4250 Generator Review

The nice thing with inverters is when they're not under load they can idle down and just quietly putt putt in the background barely sipping fuel. Fire it up once then let it run for the day.

This piece of machinery is SWEET - Redshift EX

You just balance the wheel after installing a rim lock. Common trick is thick solder wrapped around spoke ends for weights. Even without locks I'd balance them to be honest.

I'm contemplating an MXR that will be setup for Supermoto racing. I'd also like to register it for light street duty as I've got trail access within a couple miles of my house. In Maine if the bike is under 300cc, it's easy as there is no title involved, you just street register it and bam...

    Drag Racing MX vs MXR

So, while digging through various forum archives to find as much info on the MXR as I could, I found this tidbit over at VitalMX.com: When you look at the specs for the MX vs MXR, note the final drive is 12/53 on both, but the gear ratio is 3.5:1 on the MX, 3.53:1 on the MXR... they've played...

    Drag Racing MX vs MXR

Also note that knobbies make for horrible to read dynos, it's a pain but spooning on the cheapest street tire you can onto a wheel and swapping that wheel between machines will help immensely.

    Drag Racing MX vs MXR

So, the big tell tale would be to put the bikes on a dyno. With no ignition an RPM feed wouldn't be available, but you'd still be able to compare torque at a given MPH. Make sure both bikes have the same gearing and you can compare weather or not the MXR is dropping more output or not. The...

    Alta Fast charger

Does Alta plan on offering an official adapter, or will this strictly be a "It'll work but we can't condone it" type deal charging with the rapid charger off 110v?
