Here is my major rub with Stark.

    +1, for sure.

Codes “stopped 103” and “waiting for something else” on SM model.

If it were my bike, I'd try physically grounding the SM frame metal to a cold water pipe or other definitely-earth ground, using a separate wire. A lot of things other than AC line power can affect electronic devices & data transfer.

    EX Android app

+1 as well. Maybe the rpm-based adjustment is more intuitive to ICE riders, but not to me.

Throttle and traction control on the Stark

E-mail and let them know (sales@starkfuture.com). It's the only way to be sure they get the message. Imo all of us should do this, whether or not we need this feature right now. It's firmware, it's doable, it was promised from day one - they need to prioritize it ahead of self-promotion and...

    Varg Weights

+1. I'd add that at the rear there's a battle between the anti-squat effect extending the rear suspension and rear weight transfer compressing it. I noticed some fairly small rear sprockets on the bikes in the video, could be they're looking for less anti-squat at the expense of RW torque...

    Varg Weights

Yes, I did a similar thing with my Zero's pegs - then I had to get the brake pedal to work right again. :) Does your Varg's front end come up easily on pavement? The one I rode (s/n 013, I think) was a terrifying 80hp unicycle, could only give it full throttle at very high speeds & leaning...

    Varg Weights

Here's some Alta-related info, from a post I made back in 2020 - not all will help with the Varg, but some might: "When I first started riding electric in the summer of 2014, I was a little disappointed at how heavy the front end felt as compared to my ICE dirt bikes. I tried a number of...

Is it possible to add electrical accessories to a Starg Varg?

In case the dealer thing doesn't pan out... this site has additional pics.

Is it possible to add electrical accessories to a Starg Varg?

Thanks! It's got nearly 6K miles, I always rode it as fast as I could but no rock-garden stuff. I also correct minor damage as it happens and clean it with hot water, which really makes a visible difference imo. The local cops see the lights and dash unit and just keep on going. :)

Is it possible to add electrical accessories to a Starg Varg?

I had tons of fun on mine too, for years - if it had more power, I'd still be riding it. I'll be selling it this spring, though - really need the space..

    Throttle Stop

+10 ! I ordered 3 Vargs starting in 2021, but have not gotten one due to the user-adjustable-throttle-maps vaporware. Having lived with someone else's idea of the 'proper' throttle mapping - probably the legal dept. :( - for ten years now, I'm not about to do it again. Just about every issue...

Varg turns on in Neutral, cannot select mode

Has anyone checked the cell signal strength when these things occur? I'm getting a 'fine at home, dead at the riding area' vibe.

    Cracked LCD fixed

Great write-up and pics! Looks like that unit was designed as replacement-only :). I've had to solder both ends of pins quite a few times, as I prefer not to get the pins smoking hot if I can avoid it. I have one of those vacuum-desoldering irons, it works OK on tiny pins but was too weak for...

Stark weird noise and no crawl/ reverse... Drive train not reacting to throttle inputs

That's great! - hope for the best with the throttle, and maybe your friend's discovered a new use for electric bikes (quicker return to riding after serious injury). For What It's Worth :) I didn't know what fwiw meant either, and so many others too. Another thing... does your throttle itself...

Stark weird noise and no crawl/ reverse... Drive train not reacting to throttle inputs

Fwiw, this is what it sounds like to me too - like there may be two zero-throttle FW numbers (the original/correct one that's loaded at bike turn-on, and the new/erroneous one that appears after a kill-throttle command (i.e., 'neutral') indicating zero is at 10% rotation or whatever. I wonder...

Thanks much for these! Do you know of any editable ones online, to create our own map diagrams?

Austin Forkner talks about Stark Varg

Wow - could not possibly disagree more! My Alta's throttle map/'curve' #1 feels weak from 0 to WOT, while #4 is stronger everywhere and way better for me and my riding style in every case. Not sure what's meant by "sensitive", I think in terms of RW torque/hp at specific throttle-rotation...

Austin Forkner talks about Stark Varg

+1. Alta's solution was to add what I call a 'clutch-up burst' right before WOT in mode 4, where the power increased a lot with little additional throttle rotation. I've never been a clutch-guy, but it felt a lot like a clutch dump to me so maybe lots of racers would prefer it. Just another...

Broke my map control switch ‘17 ex

I've been too - the more I look, the more I wonder. :) In addition to the pad stuff you mentioned, it also looks like there may be 3 small burns? near the top row's 3 RH pad locations. Idk.
