For every power-supply type device I use, I always connect the load (unit to be powered/charged/etc.) to the device, then the device to AC power. A few instances of small bzzaps! followed by dead load units was all it took. :)

How exactly does this happen? The battery firmware is faulty, and then cannot be overwritten or rolled back after updating? This happened to at least one e-MC manufacturer I know of.

My post was aimed at improving the Stark battery's cooling, not hi-output electric motors or anything else. And I'll take 'ok' over thermal limiting at 7m any day of the week. :)

It's too bad the soak-it-or-smoke-it mentality has completely dominated MC cooling methods. I remember forced-air cooling working pretty damn well on all sorts of stuff from Volkswagens to CPU's, guess those days are over (BIG delta-T or nothing!!).
