    2004 ECRF

Dain have you looked at the ME1803. According to John at Motoenergy, it will spin up to 8000rpms. He says also that at 100V it will spin 6000 rpm. It should also bolt right in. It is watercooled and has a center magnet rotor. John can give you more info if your interested.

    Colorado vacation next week

I hope you have a great vacation. The flowers in Vail are supposed to be beautiful in the summer, (I've only been there in the winter}, but I don't think you will be passing thru there. Colorado is beautiful country. I hope your lovely wife enjoys the E-bike. She'll make you work on the...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Yea, I am thru with the Kelly. I am tired of it. It is history. My buddies ECRF felt so much better than my Kelly. About the same power, but smooth delivery and NO cutouts. I cannot live with that. Did you look at that article, the inerts of the QS motor look real promising. Maybe we can...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Here are some pictures of the gear reduction on the QS138 70H V3. Just for information. I am thinking of using this motor for a Husqvarna 65 conversion. It looks very robust for 15KW power. The ME1304 has some major torque.( I rode my buddies ECRF last weekend with ME1304 and it felt good...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Yes that does look really good. The gear reduction is the way to go. And the ME motors give you a lot of options, with the same shaft diameter and bolt pattern.

Bob did such a nice, clean conversion. It really felt good. His controller works so much better than mine. My Kelly controller is junk. The ASI controller worked real smoothly. And like Bob said thanks to @Mark911, your help tuned it in. I had a really fun ride on it on the Vet ( I am one)...

Were Code 36 MXR Warranty Replacement Batteries Still Susceptible to the same Wirebond Failure?

I agree with @Mark911 on the fact that the Wirebond will fail when a cell fails regardless of manufacturing flaws. It is the indicator that a cell has shorted, or gone bad. My first lithium pack I built were 16 LiFePo4 Prismatic 40AH cells. If one failed, the pack would still work, at a...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

I am rebuilding my 2008 KTM and will have a complete mount kit for the chromoly KTM frame, including battery mounting parts. It might fit your KX frame. I rebuilt the complete system that I have had running for over 5 years, am selling that. I am building a new setup for that bike and I am...

This looks like a good mid power system for your Yamaha frame, Bayodome. About 30KW is about MAP 3 on an Alta, and that is good on a track, at least on the Alta, and my riding ability. MAP4 for me would need a new skill set. I have a friend who wants me to Electrify an older Maico, and I have...

    DIY conversions can be dangerous!

@riverin that is really tragic to see. All the work you put into that. There probably won't be much to "Post Mortem" after words. At least a second build will be easier. @VINSANITY had a similar event and rebuilt out of that. It seems like when these cells lite off they really put out some...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

I have had the Yamaha out to the track almost every weekend. It is still running pretty good, except for the new problem that happened this weekend. My motor is a water cooled motor, that I haven't hooked the water cooling system yet. I have the hoses in and the pump in, and a radiator that I...

I'm building a bike to race the series as I couldn't get an alta at a fair price. Details of build

Dain, I think this might answer your question, by doing some reverse mathematics. Here are the spec sheets on the ME1302, and ME1304, and calculations on the info that QS gives for their motor, the QS138 90H. On the 1302 you can see the torque constant is derived from 100Nm divided by the peak...

I'm building a bike to race the series as I couldn't get an alta at a fair price. Details of build

Have you seen the RMZ build on this forum by Riverin Electric RMZ He is using the QS motor and controlling it with a BAC8000. At 72V 450A he estimates about 32.5KW, or about 40hp. That is MAP3 on an Alta. But You have to have the battery pack that will supply 450A. QS also has a smaller...

I'm building a bike to race the series as I couldn't get an alta at a fair price. Details of build

It is always really neat to see others doing there own builds, and I always learn from every one. My build is on this forum too, "A little bit about my 2008 Yamaha YZ250F". But I have a few questions about your build. I know you are going to post more info soon, but what motor are you using...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

I think your right on the 75-7R motor being a ME1507. Here is a link to some info. Z-Force Motor - Unofficial Zero Manual They use it air cooled up to 60KW. The ME1507 and ME1616 are both about the same size? There are so many different opinions on the specs though. Thunderstuck say...

A little bit about my 2008 YZ250F Electric Conversion

Have you run your SSE against an Alta? Or have you had your SSE on a dyno. I have the ME1302, and my buddy Bob has the ME1304. I've never looked at the torque constant before, they are close to the same, .13, and .15, but the 1302 has more windings per stator, which says that you can push more...
