    Tubliss on Front Wheels

Any chance those goggles will be offered with tinted lenses or will tinted replacement lenses be available in the future?

Is there a Federal Certification Label on an MXR?

I thought one of the VIN numbers was supposed to be month of mfr. I probably misread it as one of the numbers that COULD be in the VIN.

Is there a Federal Certification Label on an MXR?

Date of MFR would be built into the VIN number. I'm sure someone on here has an idea which numbers they are. Don't forget to specify "Stick-on" as they make rivet on aluminum ones too.

Is there a Federal Certification Label on an MXR?

I'm doing the same thing in VA and in the paperwork they require the decal as well. I don't know it as a Federal Certification Label, but if it is the same (49 CFR 567.4) then you can buy one from Cadillac decal and sign: cadillac decal and sign They are $25+shipping. Just send your info (Mfr...

    Tubliss on Front Wheels

It also looks like it has the mounting posts for tear-offs. I've never used tear-offs, do they all use the same mounting geometry? I like the lens being spaced off the frame a little. I don't normally have an issue with fogging but when that summer humidity picks up, goggles are really hot to...

Want to buy Beater plastics for racing

Check out the threads in the mechanical repair section. Lots of info in that section.

    0-60 mph time?

I think they mention the times in this youtube video Alta Vs Zero, but they say 4.0 seconds too.

Want to buy Looking for an EXR in Northeast

There is a really nice MX for sale in Pittsburgh. I was trying to talk my brother-in-law into buying it. Check it out here.

    Alta Plastic Kit

I'm planning on making a carbon fiber sub-frame and was going to design it to bolt on some common fender/number plates. I found that the 2006 KTM 250 SX made the number plates and fender as one piece. Does anyone know a bike that did the same with dual exhaust? It would be nice if the number...

Loading and Unloading your 150lbs Generator

If it slides up your ramp you can always use tie-down straps as a poor mans winch. It will take forever, but will save your back. Or you could get a harbor freight cable puller for $30 to do it.

Racing the MXR in muddy conditions

So we will be able to get some runs on the actual course on Friday? That would be really helpful.

    Tubliss on Front Wheels

I think you've convinced me. Tubliss in the front it is. At the very least if I do somehow get a puncture in the tire, the tubliss will help keep the rim from getting dinged on rocks.

Where did you ride your Alta today?

Since we're sharing, I'll share this one. I was commuting to work this past winter on my '06 Victory Jackpot in the pre-dawn hours of the morning. Cruising along in the HOV lane (route 66 headed into DC) when I hit a pothole. Keep in mind that not only is this a heavy cruiser, I also lowered...

Ready for a 24 Hr Race

I'll trade them for beer and food. I'm assuming everyone needs 3 sets. Also, let me know if anyone wants an AOF decal as well.

    Alta Plastic Kit

It probably cost that much for the rear subframe alone. Dies for the shrouds alone will probably cost over $200k for the pair. Our best bet would be to try and buy the dies directly from Acerbis. They don't seem at all to want to make the parts, but maybe they'll sell the dies. I still don't...

    Alta Plastic Kit

It's not so much that we can't get CAD files, but that there is no cost effective method to do anything with them. 3d printing for shrouds and rear fender will probably cost over $250 each. Number plates maybe below $150. Actually, the rear fender might be too big for most 3d printers...

Ready for a 24 Hr Race

I just used a piece of aluminum angle bolted to the mounting points of the tusk hand guards. It adds a little stiffness to the hand guards. I'll get pics of that posted later tonight or early tomorrow. The tusk hand guards were a pain though, since the mounts landed right at the handlebar...

Ready for a 24 Hr Race

Hopefully I can get some daytime pics today if it doesn't rain. But as soon as I can, I'll get those posted as well. Didn't get all the plastics back on until after dark yesterday.

    Tubliss on Front Wheels

The last piece to getting my bike ready for this race is getting tubliss installed in my rear tire. I completely get why you'd want to run really low pressure in the rear tire to get traction and at the same time prevent pinch flats. But I can't quite wrap my head around running the front...
