That sounds awesome, I can bring lots of beer and food. I have two very small radiators I use as heat exchangers for brewing. I doubt they'll get the job done though, they are for cooling PC's. I'll bring some fuel as well.
The key to tracking Alta's in the wild is to look for the single tire track, telltale signs of a wheelie, and the extra deep ruts of hard wheel spin. It's well known that Alta's are more comfortable on one wheel and love to roost. But you're right, those buggers are quiet and are quite shy...
You didn't have to change out the connector? I find the plastic posts for the self-tapping screw to be too thin and weak. One of the posts cracked off on mine, so I just squeezed it between the switch assembly and mirror.
That jersey looks boss though! That gap between the skid plate and the bottom of the fender looks like it was gathering a ton of mud too. A little piece of something to keep the mud from getting packed in between the battery and the skid plate might help.
Took the Alta for a spin on the trails at the Cove Campground in Gore, VA. This was not the first time I had been on these trails, but it was my first time with the Alta. I was able to tackle some trails I had bailed on with my ice bike. This place is very, very rocky. I did a steep section...
If you look at the pic of that same kickstand on the DennisKirk website you can see that it has a flat mounting surface. So at the very least you can use a piece of aluminum plate to make a mount for it by thru-bolting the plate between the foot peg bracket and mount. This actually doesn't...
I tried to set it up closer to the original Alta configuration with the spring in the back. This required buying more small pieces and doing more mods than F451. His idea was my first idea. You still need the Alta bracket however. Here are some pics of what I did. I drilled and tapped the...
If you can find an alta kickstand bracket, you can use a KTM kickstand. However it required drilling and tapping the kickstand for a new spring post and some additional small parts. It also requires spacing the bracket off the mounting frame by at least 1/4". If you can find the Alta bracket...
Did you buy these yourself? Just wondering if you know how much they cost from the printer? Trying to determine if 3d printing the side number plates is an economically viable option.
Do you mean by using wider spacers you COULD align with the rotor right? So I might have to get the front hub from Warp 9, since this hub is unique to the Alta.
So if we wanted to go with a different wheel mfr, what would be compatible?
edit:
I guess the question is more about the hub. I'm sure I could lace many different wheels to the hub, but if I wanted a new, complete wheel, what would I look for.
