    Gearing for ST (Single Track)

Alta realized they geared the bikes too tall for Erzberg on the prologue, they both overheated. One of the interviews mentioned they corrected it for the race, but they didn't mention if they used stock gearing. I'm riding mostly ST with some sprint enduro races. The stock setup on my MX...

Alta demo in Michigan this weekend

No clunking forks when topping out with my MX. Would oil level affect this?

    Firmware update by owner

Very common for OEMs to supply the diagnostic laptop. If something goes wrong with it, the dealer ships it back and gets another withing a day (ideally). Deere was doing this 10 years ago. Of course, now they use wifi, sat and G3 to communicate with their top of the line equipment......

    Unresponsive motorcycle

Hopefully the dealer isn't far, and is willing to look at it quickly. On the other hand, I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one that parks their Alta in the living room.

Street Legal ALTA MX in Colorado?

In my state there is a form that needs to be filled out if the vehicle manufacturer is not listed as a Licensed Manufacturer. Along with the form, the vehicle needs a VIN verification and then, with the VIN verification form in hand, needs an inspection by the DVM. They sign off on form...

    Alternative Fuel Vehicle Licensing Fees

CT has been kicking this idea around. With elections around the corner the Democrats are holding tight on EV regulations, tolls on 95, 84, and 91, etc.

    NRC fender eliminator

Yikes!! To quote @Speedkills, that's a shop stopper. I planned on ordering one, maybe I need to rethink this.

    NRC fender eliminator

Hmmm.... that's awfully nice of you to overlook that issue. I'm sure NRC is unable to do much about it since it seems to be an Alta ACM issue not liking what it's seeing. Are you able to completely remove the license plate bracket from the tail light? I don't have a need for mounting a plate...

Owner's Review Ride Report: First single track ride on my new EXR

I can't say for certain if it was Alta or the dealer, but the front brake master cylinder was low of brake fluid when I got my MX. The brakes were great until the first time I intentionally laid the bike over on the trail to take a photo of an eagle sitting in a tree. Immediately after picking...

    NRC fender eliminator

How is everyones' NRC working now? I'm looking to put lights on my MX. I know I have to go about it differently than the SM and EXs, but I think I can still use the NRC system for the rear fender.

    Alta supplied tools?

@Judaslefourbe , any progress on this? I'm heading to my dealer on Saturday to pick up some parts I ordered. I planned on asking them again if they found them.

Insurers that offer full coverage on Altas?

Progress told me "no problem" when I called with the Alta vin prior to buying, my mistake was not getting a quote. After I purchased the bike, they told it would be $700 plus per year. No thanks. Moving my motorcycles and sleds over to Allstate shortly.

How many want to keep the foot brake?

Exactly my point.... The LHRB is a must, we all seem to agree. My LHRB kit will retain the foot brake, I'm thinking I still want to use it occasionally. I'm curious how may of us NEVER want a foot brake on their Alta again. I'm in the process of designing a new rear master cylinder / foot...

How many want to keep the foot brake?

So I low-sided my MX and broke the RBH master cylinder mounting ear off on the bottom mount, rendering my rear brake lever inoperable without zip ties or fixing by replacement (RBH $657.86 plus extra parts needed, plus complete disassembly) or welding (major disassembly and machine work). Alta...

240V Inverter in a Van or Truck

I would figure out how the 240 inverter handles unbalanced 110vac loads. You might find you need a small 110vac inverter to power a mircrowave or such.
