TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alpha Now only $10,900 OTD

Haha! About six month ago Tesla owners around the world were just as upset as you are right now. Elon Musk dropped the prices so much that owners and recent buyers in China stormed Tesla dealerships there in protest! But... @FreedomFlyer, why are you buying a dirt bike on credit? There is no...

    NACS or CCS Varg charging

Teslas are still more than 50% of the EVs on the roads today. I am sticking with Teslas for now. But Elon is not allowing V2G yet, calling it "inconvenient". Maybe in 2025 (in Elon's years) we will have V2G and autonomous robotaxis.

    NACS or CCS Varg charging

It should be possible. Someone just needs to add the proper CAN communication. The Stark's 400V rating is almost the industry standard. The bike's battery is about 10 times smaller a car battery, but a low-current control should not be an issue because H-D bikes can use J1772 chargers just...

Owner's Review Stark Varg - First Customer Review!

Thank you, @fsfs, this is perfect. Could someone please count the number of teeth in the Varg's primary gear reduction?

    General Honda E - Trials

Crazy! Imagine you can jump quads in any whoops from a standstill!

    General Honda E - Trials

I think this whiney engine noise is loud on purpose. Without this noise, there is no way to tell how much kinetic energy the virtual/physical flywheel has before the rider releases the clutch. This trial bike has the virtual or physical clutch, definitely the virtual or physical gears, and even...

    General Poll, response appreciated

This was obvious back in ~2018 when Josh Hill battled Ricky Carmichael in Paris. Josh's bike went teeter-totter in the whoops, every single lap. I later experienced this myself. My Alta could never do the whoops well. It was much easier to jump the whoops than to skim them. The reason, I think...

    General Poll, response appreciated

Traction control on a Surron is okay, but if you decide to add Wheelie Control to your inverter, I will buy myself a Surron and beg you to sign me up as a test rider! :-) Then I could work on traction control as well if the bike has enough power to break traction. Paul S. mentioned to me...

Finally, an electric bike video worth watching!

LOL! I subscribed to the channel! Hoping to see more track action next time, including attacking the whoops in slow motion and some air time while jumping.

    General Poll, response appreciated

    a) Not cheating, just a different version of traction control that all dirt bikes already have anyway. b) I do not have a Surron/Talaria, sorry. c) No, I do not think a 6 kW mini-bike needs an advanced traction control.

    General Poll, response appreciated

What a cool project! But is this traction control tech going to be eventually used in the Varg or in the Surron and Talaria? And doesn't the Varg already have an IMU somewhere (besides the cell phone)?

    Yamaha 2000w generator/inverter

Yeah, for charging at 230V you'd need a minimum 4,000 W generator for max-current charging, our Alta experience showed. Bigger at higher elevations.

    Yamaha 2000w generator/inverter

Yes, your phone tells the Varg charger what current to send to the bike. Just keep it on the highest setting, unless you start stalling generators or popping circuit breakers. Regular US household outlets are designed for 15A x 110V = 1,650 W. The Varg charger should not be consuming any more...

    Yamaha 2000w generator/inverter

You can only charge from 110V from this Yamaha 2000 generator, so it will be slower. Yes, it will take about 5 hours from empty. If you are not in a hurry then it will work just fine. Put the charger on the max charging current, and it will still be around 1700W, not 2000W+. It should be okay.

BYD E-VALI All-Electric Van (Europe only)

New BYD E-Vali electric van offers more cargo space than the Ford E-Transit but less range. Needs a bigger battery. The US market may not see BYD any time soon because Ford and GM will then be dead. Here are some specs for the BYD E-Vali electric van: Battery: 80.64 kWh LFP blade battery...

SM Rear Sprockets same as EX/MX?

They never did. Perhaps, KTM gas bikes never needed these final drive ratios.

SM Rear Sprockets same as EX/MX?

MX/EX sprockets are 53 teeth, whereas the SM rear sprocket is ~50 teeth, I think. The bolt pattern is the same.
