@TCMB371 Brian and I switched coasts. He moved east and I moved west. I am running his favorite Bridgestone Soft/Intermediate tires on my local Arizona and SoCal hardpack tracks. I am wondering if he switched to Dunlop Soft tires on his new East Coast home tracks.
Try Bridgestone X31 if your...
As of now, I am still away and not planning to attend this year, sorry.
@F451 , @Redwolf , @Jared -- Someone needs to PM/email/call Jared, he does not get these @ notifications after not logging in here for more than 2 months.
You can use dirtlegal.com and register it in Montana or South Dakota.
You get a permanent plate/registration, I think ND does not require insurance for dirt bikes, but you might have to pay LLC fees annually.
They are stalling it, exactly. There is no good reason why a Freeride-E can't have a normal MX frame and suspension, so the reason why KTM makes it not raceable is so that guys like us do not upgrade it to a higher voltage and go racing it with bigger bikes.
Yuck! This is not great. I had enough bad experiences in my racing career with poorly machined parts to know this could cause trouble. There could be too much shear stress on one 6mm bolt that receives all the braking force. Keep an eye on these bolts to make sure they stay tight.
Do you know that some of the fastest pros often ride around the track in taller gears in order to be smooth and have the most traction? What is the equivalent of this on an electric bike?
The equivalent is riding in a map with low throttle sensitivity. Or in a low-power map in the current Stark...
Sometimes the cables of the stock charger are just not long enough. What if you want to park your electric bike much farther away from your 240V outlet/power station/noisy generator?
Can you spot two 240V extension cables in these pictures?
I would download high-resolution side-view images of both bikes. Scale the images in MS Paint to be proportional to their real-life wheelbase numbers. Cut out the motor+battery from the Varg, drag it over to the Duke image, and see if it fits the side view of the bike.
Then would measure the...
Please keep us in the loop. It used to be Garry @bluefxstc who organized our team, but with him being out someone else needs to take over the organizational duties. We had about 5 racers in recent years, so I hope the interest continues.
I will join too if I am in the country at that time...
NiceCNC offered to refund me $15, LOL, which was their Labor Day discount, but they refused to fix the "stunt caliper" portion of their bracket. I would have to mill 1mm off of that bracket to make it fit. I also had to dremel the Brembo bracket to clear the brake disk mounting bolts. It is not...
Is there a schedule posted somewhere? The EMXWC event is 4 days long, and there is a conflicting WORCS race in Havasu that I want to attend, but the WORCS race is one day only, most likely Saturday. It would be great to attend both events!
Stark Varg has a ~7 kWh battery. It would be very good to have ~7 kWh of lithium batteries in your trailer so that you could bring a fully charged bike to the track, drain the battery, and then charge it one more time. That would be a very good and long day of riding. Of course, it all depends...
Cool thread! I have been towing a closed cargo trailer behind my camper van. I like it, it gives me more room in the van, but the whole train is longer and heavier. Plusses and minuses in everything, as expected.
How did you calculate this, and are they lead-acid or lithium batteries? I won't...
