Check your Stark Varg charger plug

Same here. My plug eventually melted and Stark sent me a replacement of their new version. Much better.

Stark charger only puts out 3amps now

The amps you are seeing is going to the battery at 420 to 450 volts. A typical North American 110V outlet is rated for 15A. So 15×110/420=3.9A max you will see before blowing a fuse.

    New VARG Software Update.

After the announcement I checked for updates every day with no luck. When I finally got the bike out to the track and turned it on, guess what? It wanted to do the update then! So, I did the update and rode off in mode 3. I didn't notice any improvements but this was a track I never had the...

Well, I didn't want the liability but my wife did. It was cheap anyway.

    Insuring electric dirt bikes

I contacted the same guy and he set me up with liability only. He said he couldn't get the fire and theft.

    charging plugs insertion sequence

In my experience it doesn't really matter much. Here are some things to note: 1. The bike knows when the charging cable is connected. 2. If no power is coming in when the charging cable is connected, the bike will indicate a fault with a yellow light. 3. There is a relay click when connecting...

3 issues with my Stark Varg in 1 week.

I did a battery swap in Canada and shipped back the old one under warranty. Just remember to print the hazardous material documents in color and triplicate. Don't attach them to the packaging. The battery swap didn't fix all my problems, but they had diagnosed the bike remotely and decided I...

3 issues with my Stark Varg in 1 week.

Some of the chargers shipped with improperly wired plugs. The insulation on my was not stripped back far enough and the wires were being clamped on the insulation. I didn't find out until my plug melted because of the poor connections. I have replaced it with a new L14-30 plug which I purchased...

    New bike help needed

It's not that simple. The charger uses a boost converter to charge the battery at 450V and 3A for slow charging, this works out to around 12A of 110V current.

Yes, the wireless charger coupling is off center, so your phone has to be the right way around.

    New bike help needed

I made my own 110 volt adapter. I didn't want to pay the cost of the adapter plus the exorbitant shipping fee. I used an old line cord and got the 220 socket on Amazon for $20 . The wiring is straight forward, put the neutral and hot to the 2 hots on the 220 socket, and ground to ground. Use a...

    Varg charging from generator.

I finally got to ride my Varg. The result was a bad news/good news result. I tested it out on a sand track and it chewed through the battery much faster than I expected. However, I was able to recharge it with my tiny 1700W 110V generator in reasonable time. If I recharge on every break of...

    Insuring electric dirt bikes

I tried to get fire, theft, and liability insurance for my Varg, It threw the insurance company into a tail spin when they asked how many cc's the bike was. I said 0, and they told me they can not insure anything less than 150ccs. Well that was just the start. I have been contacting every...

    Anti-Theft?!

My Varg phone comes with a data-only SIM card, so it looks like there is come connectivity. I don't know how the subscription is being paid for, but maybe I'll find out if it expires. Maybe it uses this data connection for updates and registration?

Is there any reason I can run 10-40w oil in the varg?

The Varg comes with a 2 year warranty, unlike other motocross bikes that have NO warranty. I wouldn't want to risk that by trying to save a few dollars on oil.
