Does the mud pile up on top of the front sprocket from the front wheel or from the rear wheel? If the rear, then a completely different guard is needed. Something that would scrape it off the chain. But, judging by the right side, it looks like the front wheel contributes a lot too.

In my experience, if the damping is good now, then you can change the spring rate by at least 4-5% and still be okay, and not even have to adjust the clickers much.

It's more likely that your dealer lied to you about the firmware version, rather than the throttle went bad. But if you have to buy a new throttle, try @AltaWest, or @ElectroBraap, or search the Classifieds, or post your own a Willing-to-Buy ad. OEM throttles are floating around, and I do not...
