    2019 EXR. Hello. I'm Ben and . . .

Also, I see there is a confusion in this thread about chargers. The Standard charger might be included in the dealer price, but I do not think it is included for free. The Standard chargers were included only with the 2017 models, before the huge $4,500 price drop happened and the MXR models...

    2019 EXR. Hello. I'm Ben and . . .

You're talking a 2018 EX vs the 2019 EXR, right? I do not thing there have been 2018 EXRs. The current EXR came out in June as a 2019 model, AFAIK.

Alta Redshift MXR and MX on a Dyno - Riding Maps Demystified

The stock front sprocket on the MXR is already 12. Are you asking what would happen if you install a smaller or a larger front sprocket? You should try Map 4, if you need to clear jumps. Your only get 37hp in Map 3. Of course it would feel underpowered.

Kreft's Take on the MXR Suspension

I would ignore the rear spring and fork pressure recommendations. The MXR is sprung well for an average 180 lbs rider, and no reasonable damping tuning should result in requiring softer or stiffer springs.

Cycle Key To Erase Battery Error

Yes, I did. It didn't seem to be all that interesting though. Although I forgot to ask whether that laptop had the permissions to adjust and create new maps. That would be very cool. LOL! I'd like to think so. Actually, it was me who came to the Alta demo day. But I told Alta where that demo...

So you do not need the lights then. You may then want to consider the MX vs the MXR. Both bikes are a lot of fun on single track. The MX suspension can be re-sprung and revalved to work at a motocross track. The MXR suspension works okay on most tracks for most C-level riders and occasional B-level.

Little brass thread inserts in plastic -- How to fix

So you screwed partially into the epoxy? Isn't it usually brittle? I am thinking hot glue might be a better material, but I do not know if it would stick to plastic.

Cycle Key To Erase Battery Error

I didn't have to go to the dealer to update my firmware. My local Alta Rep updated it right at the track!

Little brass thread inserts in plastic -- How to fix

They work well on the KTM/Husky. But you need a small and long hole in the plastic to screw them into. On the Alta, once you remove the brass pieces, there is a large cavity and a thin plastic at the bottom of them. Not much to screw into.

I guess we do not now have a thread deliberating the MX vs. the EXR. It's been EX vs EXR, MX vs MXR, and EXR vs MXR. What will you be using the bike for?

What Next? Skid Plate Or Left Hand Rear Brake?

+1 Besides, the SXS skid plate makes it much easier to clean the bike from underneath. Without a skid plate the mud packs very tight under the motor.

That's the best advice right here!

    Footpeg dragging in ruts

Sucks for woods riding too. Better stand and sit with both feet on them toes, else you can break a foot if you hit some stump hidden in the grass.
