LED tail/brake light and blinker conversion

Try connecting the resistor in series (daisy-chain) with the plate light, then connect the far ends of both to where you connected the plate light before. If you still have problems, you'll need a larger-ohm-value resistor, and if that gets too hot in use you may need a higher wattage rating as...

Question about Stark charger 240v adapter: is neutral required?

No - this is a 120VAC unit, as I was unable to find a 240VAC one with enough power capability or the proper adaptors to be usable with the Stark. I figured I'd post it anyway as it will work for the majority of US Varg owners.

the fork has snap rings which apparently mate to the fork guards

As an alternative... on my WP forks I loosen the fork-guard screws and pull the guards away from the upper tubes - sometimes pretty hard - then re-tighten. It may take several tries and possibly a little heat, but I've always ended up with zero contact so far.

Owner's Review Stark Varg vs Alta MXR

Here's what I had in my notes: "Leaving the bike on while charging can leave the BCU running & fry critical 12V components + the DCDC, which is usually why the bike dies." I thought there was a reference to the 12V battery dying too, can't find it now. I left mine on once for about 5h...

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

I've never seen or read about an Alta gearbox breather hose - not sure the Alta's IP67 rating would allow it. I've never seen any evidence of water in my oil, either through the sight glass or during oil changes.

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

It is! Mine surely won't be, in one direction anyway :)

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

Only disagree with two things; requires (I'd sub "sometimes requires") and will ("may"), as I've seen many gaskets/seals/etc. not leak at all under 100+ bar differentials, sometimes for decades. My replies at this Stark Varg potential-gearbox-oil-contamination thread are intended only to help...

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

Just curious - why would you want it to breathe in? As I mentioned, a negligible air-temp-related vacuum might be present from time to time, big deal.

    Varg - Gear Oil Change

Maybe a 1-way check valve would be a good idea. I'd much rather "risk"an occasional tiny vacuum than suck anything into my gearbox.

    Lights!

Thanks much for taking the time to gather all that info, it'll help a lot of Stark owners.

    Anti-Theft?!

I disagree. I consider pre-emptively isolating the Stark VCU's 4G communication system from the outside world an action, rather than speculation. And having seen a powerful 4G jammer shut down every cell phone in the main concourse of GCS in NYC - many of which no longer worked when the jammer...

    Anti-Theft?!

My concern is (imho) far more critical than any privacy issue. Any vehicle whose control functions can be accessed via wireless network is vulnerable to (potentially lethal) unauthorized external manipulation.

    Anti-Theft?!

Thanks for the pix! The arc-shaped antenna array at the top handles both GPS and LTE/4G, they will effectively vanish without it. It might be possible to unplug (can't see clearly) or unsolder the cable to the 'LTE' connection, but this removes the load from the microwave transceiver which I...

Stark Electric Bikes needed for 'Arctic Sea Ice Monitoring Terminal Deployment' programme.

Idk if it's available, but if so I'd consider heated wrapping run off the main battery, which would increase battery temps internally and externally using the same current flow. Range would take a hit of course, but the wrap need not generate a lot of heat so overall power drain should be...

    Stark Varg - Owners Manual

This Ivation looks nearly ideal to me if the quality's decent - plenty of cool features and130psi max, double what I use but should work even better, and certainly way safer than 1,500 :) There might even be some used ones for sale, by those who bought it thinking it was a regular hi-pressure...

    Stark Varg - Owners Manual

OK, sorry to hear that - hopefully things will get better soon, starting with the weather! :) Yes, increasing the spraying distance makes a big difference, less focused and much gentler. It would be cool if there was a small trunk-size PW with a 5 gal. water tank or whatever - plug it into 12V...

    Stark Varg - Owners Manual

Do you have access to water and electricity? Initially my water supply was 150' away and electricity a single ceiling outlet :( but over the years things have changed dramatically - not much money spent, just continuous moderate effort resulting in a comfortable/dry/well-lit/secure environment...
