Bike Ramps and other loading tips

Re lifted pickups, mine has a 2" or so lift and it makes a huge difference in loading a bike, its way harder then you would think. I've got it down so its no problem, but always look for a curb or some other mound, hill, or whatever to back up to to assist with loading. My old place, the...

Bike Ramps and other loading tips

Sounds like you've covered all the bases for a safe and affordable loading and tie down setup. I need to upgrade to those tie-downs with the swivels on them, keep forgetting to pick some up at my local shop. I love the built in soft-tie loops, super handy, give all kinds of attachment options...

Electric Flat Track at The One Moto Show in Portland - Feb 8

To some. If you can’t beat them, crash them. Lame.

Electric Flat Track at The One Moto Show in Portland - Feb 8

Wow, I was wondering about that. My first reaction when viewing it for the first time was "I'd be looking for payback" big time, you punt me, I'm punting you as hard as I can, as quickly as I can. Taking someone out with a poorly executed block pass at an event like this seems pretty lame.

    Long Term Alta Ownership Considerations

Hey guys, I'm wondering what you all think about our prospects for long term Alta ownership? I have been loving my '18 MXR since I purchased it last year (thanks for everyone's enablement, I mean help, on that!) and I'm wondering about long term viability of the bike. I would like to keep the...

    Electric clutch

I get reminded that my Alta doesn't have a clutch, or I guess more accurately, does not have a "neutral", every time I try to roll it around the garage, or back paddle on a trail. Betweeen the porky-ness and the driveline drag, I really have to put some effort into it, Lol. I often turn it on...

25 hours of starvation ridge 2020

Blue, thank you for the kind invite. I would love to join in on the fun. And no worries about speed, I'm fast enough for me, and have powered through enough "nasty muddy lost my lights had to resort to my emergency camp headlamp to see where I was going 5 feet at a time, then that burned out, I...

Just bought a 2018 SM A few questions

That sounds like fun. I wonder if the SM could make the 8 laps at race pace and still have any charge left? I'm guessing it wouldn't, but if it did, maybe the on-board charger could get you enough charge in the 1 hour between races to get another 8 laps in? Whenever I ride my MXR on the street...

Pros and Cons to moving the screen module

Nice work, I'm always nervous about trashing the screen on my MXR. Would be awesome if a small sacrificial screen could be mounted up near/on the bars like a small KTM speedo or something to display an odometer function and state of charge.

Oh man, this is tempting to run down to see. Thanks for posting, I hadn't heard about the lecky bikes racing there.

2018 mxr Battery apart finally. Interesting pics

Is that corrosion from leaking battery acid from the battery cells?

    2018 MXR Mods

I was loving the fatty front, it seemed to go right where I pointed it, climbed ruts nicely, cushy ride. The climbing ruts nicely can either be a pro or con depending though, sometimes it starts grabbing and climbing when you don't want it too, its amazing what a difference just a few mm's in...

    2018 MXR Mods

I had the Tubliss setup on my KTM 350 it worked ok, but too fiddly for me. Flatting hasn't been to much of an issue for me over the years. The few flats I've had were easily fixed on the trail, or I'd just ride them out, especially if its a rear flat. I think my longest flat ride was about 15...

    2018 MXR Mods

First ride on the KTM triples setup, 18” rear wheel, new Shinkos, all went well. I like the fatty front tire too. A vid of the mud ride here if interested: New Years Day Ride

    New Years Day Ride

Was sitting home on New Years Day bumming out, it had been pouring and howling winds all night long, raining for weeks, wanted to ride, but wasn't up for a mud ride in the rain and wind. Saw a friends post on Facebook, they're up at the property we ride at, no rain, no winds, clear skies...

Solidworks using Alta in their ad

Very interesting thanks. Strange that they don't even mention that Alta is out of business though. I would imagine a lot of people that are not familiar with Alta that read that article (how many will that be?) will google Alta and be wondering what the heck?
