Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

It's a Beta RR 300 Racing from 2021. So KYB in front, Sachs in the back. From 23 onwards they have MYB front and rear and should be a better transition with the Stark. However being an enduro bike it's far softer with all pros and cons. For racing i would love to set it up the same, but the Beta...

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

I could experiment a little on one off my regular bigger MX tracks. Wouldn't be the best comparison to my races, but at least we'll see a difference if there is any. I have 12-13-14-15 sprockets on stock (shares those with our Beta's). Maybe on a quiet day (so the ruts don't change too much) do...

    Reduce Drag Stark

To reduce weight you could go 19' at the rear. The rim is way lighter than the tyre. The OEM tubes are very light, but i broke the 21' on the first ride and the 18 on the second. However that was the November 23 model. In December 25 i ordered a new 19' wheel and pulled the tube immediately so...

Does that really matter on the lifespan of an MX bike though? Also this is not a circlip mount, but a solid bolt connection. I never seen damaged axle splines on a bolt mounted sprocket. I have seen it with circlip sprockets with both OEM and aftermarket. I think it's more a design feature than...

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

I used around 10.3% per lap (8 laps used 83%, each lap rougly 7:30 min). However in the fast farmland section i could see it drop 4% in just under 1 minute. So that short sprint eat up an over reprecented part of the battery. In the obstacle section i couldn't catch in right before and after on...

Australian Championship shows why the AMA has banned Stark. It ain’t Safety.

Those damn backwards ''rednecks''. I've been hit by the same rider twice in the same CrossCountry race. He explained he did not hear me. Well i was riding slower in FRONT of him the first time and the second time standing still at the entrance of a single track where a crashed bike blocked the...

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

Hard to tell though. All these races run once a year per specific track. Most are even prepared for just 1 day and are setup slightly different each year. The race i did last weekend was the same i did a year ago. Then we had snow and hail around freezing with deep sucking mud. This year we had...

Stark Varg MX vs EX fitment plastic

To answer my own question: The ''SEX1-P-RF-02-B Rear fender'' came in and i mounted it on the Stark MX. In shape it was a perfect fit. It however missed the mounting for the rear wires of the MX. I drilled a hole to fit the upper mounting and that was all the modifications i needed to make...

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

Average speed last race was 40km/h incluiding the slow obstacle course where average speed was low going over logs/concrete obstacles etc. In the OTR events that i would run in the future average speed wil be around 60, with top speeds close to 110/120km/h on the corn fields.

Stark Varg: Gearing for optimal range

Is there a significant range to be won with taller gearing and thus lowering the RPMs? I do 2 hrs races with some of them actually having some quite long fast sections on them where we reach over 60 km/h. I was wondering if adding some taller gearing would help me push another lap out of the...

    stark varg ex supermotard

That happened on the early MX models, maybe they moved away from aluminium after some of those incidents. Stark is quitte good at taking lessons from failing parts. Anyways, it has been common practice by the local Stark riders now to just move onto aftermarket ones. Same goes with the tubes...

    stark varg ex supermotard

On the MX KTM sprockets fit. So you have the range of 12-15. I dislike the Stark ones, they are aluminium with holes drilled tru. They wear very fast and i know some people who actually were able to break them in 2 on hard landings with open throttle, in 1 case bending the drivertrain axle by...

Arctic Leopard E-XE 880 Electric Dirt Bike

Yess and no at the same time. At very slow crawling stuff it feels lighter (and actually is 10kg lighter), also with near tipovers it's far easy'er to push it back up. But when the speeds go up the superior suspension and stiffer frame of the Stark take over where the EXE880 gets luggish and...

Arctic Leopard E-XE 880 Electric Dirt Bike

I think the Stark EX would benefit greatly from a charger that could be mounted on top of the battery, under the seat. It would't need to be huge, just something like the 1.8kW from the EXE880. That would get you to so many more places and would make it a commuter option for me (I live 2/3rd of...

Arctic Leopard E-XE 880 Electric Dirt Bike

Just watched 1 is significantly more expensive. 1 hasn't been for sale for 7 years. And the last one is a project bike with 2/3rd sized battery. Basicly you're buying a second hand bike and a new engine, wich explains the somewhat lower price. Go brand new (like the Stark is) and the YZ is by...

Arctic Leopard E-XE 880 Electric Dirt Bike

Rode the thing last week and hve to say i'm impressed. It's less premium built than a Stark, but does however have some features that make it more usable than the Varg EX. Huge storage capacity, where you can take the 1.8kW charger with you, have your tools with you and a solid lunch, being one...

    EX Android app

It does datalog, kinda. It works shitty on my Stark MX. I also have an action cam that i mount on my helmet, point it down and i could actually check the speed afterwards. I'm more of empirical testing anyways. I would love the option to make a ''wheelie over obstacles map'' that would drop to...

Stark Varg MX vs EX fitment plastic

I have a Stark Varg MX. I however need a licence plate holder on the bike to run in certain track. Nothing on the street. I allready found out from the Stark parts website that the subframe has the same parts number. Do you people know what i actually need to make it fit? One would think the...
