    Varg MX 1.2

You know Stark adding a special US tariff surcharge of $1000 is them eating part of the cost for you, right? They face a 15% tariff, 15% is likely about their own margin or higher so to absorb the tariff cost they would have to sell US bikes for free (or even at a loss). With 15% tariff for...

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

Interesting first comment under Stark most recent Instagram post about Eddie racing TKO https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNQoNr2My3J/?igsh=aGJnOHEyNGs5eWpq

They had put up a vote in their Instagram a few months ago, I think there were 4 or 5 choices including green, blue and black.

Flux Performance - eMX startup from Europe

Hi Marko, I'll try my luck with you, am I right assuming you're using 5.0 Ah cells and just a little bit more of them than Stark (440-ish instead of 400) to get to 7.9 kWh? Incoming 6.0 Ah cells with fast charging capability, like Molicel P60B, could be a great opportunity to bump battery...

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

Eddie Karlsson is on a roll! After winning Romaniacs Silver class, he went on to race RedBull TKO (US Hard Enduro championship last round). On Sunday, Eddie was 5th in race 1, then won his group in race 2 and ended up 7th in the main event, climbing his way up from 15th after a 1st lap crash...

I love this bike, but already have problems...

If you count the Tesco bags tubes (loved this analogy from @chrismx72 😆) it's quite possible, yes. But if we're talking battery, power train, VCU, there is simply no way to know, could be 1% or 40% failures, that's my point. An internet forum is a tiny subset of owners very likely to...

I love this bike, but already have problems...

Keep us posted Hard to tell from an internet forum if 1% or 20% of the bikes are affected by QC issues. Don't think when OEMs come with their electric bikes they can out-spec Stark but sure they need to invest in dealer training, maybe not for more technical and potentially hazardous stuff...

Flux Performance - eMX startup from Europe

Well since the Primo is merely intended to be the base for the production model there's no point trying to predict the weight of a production bike that does not yet exist. It's probably not easy to make it lighter than the Varg, although Marko wrote in the other thread they could consider...

    Varg MX 1.2

The 2 years warranty was very clever from Stark, to reassure buyers betting on a unknown startup. As it turns out, it was also needed since there was a fair amount of battery and power train failures, among others. Had it not been handled correctly, the bad press could have (deservedly) killed...

    Varg MX 1.2

You mean, just like the MX1.2 that will be available in the UK in late October? 😆

    Varg MX 1.2

Latest model available is the 26 at £9600. Of course there are rebates on the 25 YZ450F, just like the MX1.0 is £1200 cheaper than MX1.2.

    Varg MX 1.2

Just comparing the price of ICE and electric dirt bike made in Europe shows electrics are not really more expensive than ICE made on the same continent. KTM: Varg is at the same price or precisely 40 € more (+0.3%), with 2025 KTM price Triumph: Varg costs 800 € more (+6.7%) Ducati: Varg is...

    Varg MX 1.2

FYI that appears to be specific to the Australian market, in other countries price is much closer to European bikes. For instance in France, 60 hp MX 1.2 is merely 40 € more expensive than 2025 KTM 450 SXF while 80 hp MX 1.2 is cheaper than 2025 450 SXF FE.

    Varg MX 1.2

High power outlets look like this here. It's 3 phase, 380 V, 32 A, 12 kW. Quite common in the industry to power machine tools, uncommon in standard household (most electric appliances like oven or washing machine now use standard outlets) but could be installed, just like you can put EV fast...

    Varg production numbers / VIN

Well, now that MX 1.2 is out it kinda makes sense. No 2025 MX VIN (in the US) could have be Stark stuffing its MX inventory in the end of 2024, switching massively its production towards then-incoming EX (700-1000 EX produced per month with some MX along the way to use most of their 6.5 kWh...

    Varg MX 1.2

Exactly. Standard household outlet in France is 3.5 kW (16 A x 220 V, like Italy and many other European countries 😉), fast charger would be cool to have as an option for those who may have a use for it. Besides V2L (or car fast chargers on the road or at home), it will take some time before...

    Varg MX 1.2

Lol I was expecting someone to come up with this 😁 Indeed 7.2% progress every year would double range in 10 years. Anyway it's all very approximate, progress is not exactly linear (even in the past 4 years).

    Varg MX 1.2

Thanks. Save 15 kg or ride twice longer with the same weight, that is the question 😁 I think range increase will stay a priority for most riders, therefore OEMs, until a point where manufacturers will be able to focus on weight savings. Beauty of it is that they can do both with various...

    Varg MX 1.2

Hey @Philip no Stark media kit this time around? Anyway it just makes sense, they had to unify their logistics, no point in keeping 2 different battery packs, 2 different phones and so on. Besides getting EX improvement the only novelty I've spotted is understandably "lap mode" but it should...

    Varg MX 1.2

Thinking about battery capacity improvement, I took a look at what happened with 21700-type batteries (as used in the Varg). Following examples are from leading supplier Molicel with their release year, capacity and energy density. 2021: P42B 4.2 Ah, 226 Wh/kg 2023: P45B 4.5, 242 Wh/kg 2024...
