AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

Eddie Karlsson is racing Romaniacs Prologue was very much up his "Superenduro" alley, he won his category (Silver class). https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMcIElHucmJ/?igsh=MWFsZjMxZWt0czc5Ng== Day 1 he finished 6th, today he just won day 2 for 2nd overall...

    Varg production numbers / VIN

US VIN update for EX: 4560. At this rate they could end up quite close to 8-10 k for the year, that's some serious stuff. For MX, I have yet to see any 2025 VIN (with S for 10th digit) nor any VIN higher than 10600. Wondering if it's just a US thing (having imported enough inventory and...

    Will WSX allow Electric?

Noncommittal for sure, "yes I'll always have that conversation" LMAO Of course X Games set a precedent: electrics won so they've been banned the next year. Obviously I don't think Starks would win right away in AMA SX nor WSX as they did in AX UK but if OEMs don't want to race against them...

    Stark actually profitable... kinda

Stark is profitable on a quarterly basis, profitability for the year can't be far. For Q2 2025, Stark reported a robust €47 million revenue and €4.5 million EBITDA, revenue that more than doubled from the previous year. €47M could be about 4 000 sales in 3 months, no doubt pushed by EX sales...

Stark Files 004 - The one about AMA

My main surprise was that Endurocross organizers wanted electrics in but were prevented by the AMA. If they're safe to race FIM Superenduro no reason why they can't race Endurocross. The main hold up for AMA pro is money and I don't think Mike is involved on the pro side. In fact around here...

    Stark range video(s)

It is indeed a couple kilos extra compared to advertised, 120.4 kg instead of 118 kg. https://dirtbikechannel.com/pages/bike-weight I'll say a couple extra kilos is nothing out of the ordinary but you seem so obsessed about it, why don't you compare all the measured weights of motorcycles on...

    Stark range video(s)

Hurray for extension cords! There is no "FIM weight limit of 123 kg", it merely existed briefly, for a couple of months, specifically in the technical rules for the first rounds of FIM Superenduro 2024-2025 championship. It was never applied to any other competition and was set at 117 kg on...

    Extracting SOC metrics?

Congratulations, you are a certified electronic wizard! Any idea what the motor sensors indicate? As for the VCU, current must be in mA right? Don't tell me there's 300 A going to the fan?

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

With racing happening all over the world, it's only a matter of time before electrics are allowed to compete at the highest level in the US as well. I couldn't understand how the Varg could be safe and legal to race FIM Superenduro but not AMA Endurocross, well, turns out Endurocross organizers...

Media Review Enduro 21: 2 days trail riding a Stark Varg EX in the Pyrenees Mountains – 5 things we learned

Plus as they note, it would get greater use as a trail bike with an onboard charger, right now you're limited to loops.

    Varg production numbers / VIN

From the beginning of 2025, Varg MX VIN did not increase much, from 10000 to 10500, all with 2024 production date. On the other hand they've obviously launched the EX, latest US VIN I've seen is 3307, all with 2025 production date, pretty solid for maybe 5 months production. This suggests...

AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA races

Great interview with Robbie Wageman about his very last minute deal to race in Canada. He'll come back, hopefully more prepared, for the last round of the series. Had about 3 practice laps, DNS race 1 then 19th in race 2. 30 min plus 2 laps on a very muddy track, he set power at 55 hp and took...

    EX left me stranded today

Thanks for your honesty, that would have been really horrible design. There are enough stories about bricked Teslas to not do the same thing with bikes.

    Stark range video(s)

Agreed, it was more a comment about range. Charging does depend on race day schedule, although Herbreteau said he was switching batteries for convenience (which is not an affordable option for amateurs indeed), he said he would also have plenty of time to recharge between motos (in Elite MX...

    Stark range video(s)

No problem for pros racing 30 min motos in France nor Canada. 6th in France Elite MX championship is some serious proof of concept. They're likely using the EX battery but if you're 10% slower than pros that shouldn't really matter that much. See this thread AMA and Electric Motorcycles in AMA...
