2025 Stark Varg rumors, changes, etc.

I don't know about overall manufacturing cost but clearly when OEM have a zillion different engines to make (and even engines with similar capacity could be physically different) and regularly update, electric motors would be much easier plus could pretty much be one size fits all (with...

    ON powersports

Aussie startup, launch and preorders opening on 29th April. Not much more to add to that, just that they intend to make an enduro, then MXer, then rallye then supermoto. Curious to know a bit more in the next few days. https://onpowersports.com/

2025 Stark Varg rumors, changes, etc.

Cheers guys, glad that does not take any of your enjoyment away 👍 Incredibly that makes the Varg at the same price that the Japanese bikes, cheaper than euro bikes. Haven't seen updates for a while about their profitability but that'd be crazy if they can keep such low prices (even if only a...

2025 Stark Varg rumors, changes, etc.

Varg MX 60 hp is now officially at $9 999 / €10 999 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIwTcNRs8Vk/?igsh=Y2tteHh6eG85OGMz Cue some early adopters crying a bit, sorry folks, scaling up to reduce cost is not cheating you, retail prices going down is still something to celebrate. It's not great for...

    Varg production numbers / VIN

April US VIN over 2000 doesn't really tell us how many they've sent overseas vs how many they've kept for Europe. Though that implies that they had built over 2000 EX bikes by March, and they've likely had sizeable pre orders. Can't wait for a "real road play bike" with onboard charger, this...

    Stark Varg EX range

Shane did a first range test on a heavy track, calls it pretty much worse case scenario, in these conditions EX got about 10% more range than MX (26.6 vs 24 miles range extrapolated to 0, about an extra 10 min for this test, 1h42 vs 1h31).

New App update and subscription option

They might possibly wait for the update to be ready for the Varg MX before releasing this vid.

    Stark Varg EX range

Yes handbrake is standard anywhere in the world with footbrake as a paying option, except for the US where footbrake is required for road homologation (and they provide handbrake as a courtesy). They all come with plate holder to mount and integrated turn signals, front turn signals are road...

starks 6hr range may be possible

In AX they're up to speed against Friese (AMA AX) or Deano (AX UK), plus Hicks is as fast on his Yam 450 than on his Stark so agreed they'd be somewhere around top 15-20. Which is all the more reason to allow them to race, yet other OEM are afraid of the competition.

starks 6hr range may be possible

The only discipline where it's not legal to race a Varg in Australia is Pro SX. It's raced in vet MX (won title), flat track, Enduro and hard enduro championships. In France it's raced in SX, pro MX, Vet MX, cross country. Granted it's not exactly suited to cross country, requires small mods...

    Stark Varg EX range

Here are some first impressions, jump at 23:00 for some perspectives about range compared to MX. Doesn't tell much but promising, he's gonna do something more thorough in a couple of days and no doubt we'll have lot more data and more vids about EX range pretty soon (expecting something...

Here is my major rub with Stark.

Honest question, have electric motors in Altas or KTM freeride required much maintenance? I think some Atla are still running fine, years after the demise of the manufacturer?

New App update and subscription option

It's still there, they've just unlisted it, could be an early not finalized version, like we saw for the EX unboxing vid.

New App update and subscription option

I understand why SaaS makes sense for them, $144 a year is not that much compared to the cost of riding, still hate it though. Sure hope security lock is not behind a paywall, not getting your bike easily stolen is certainly a very basic need, not an "advanced" feature. Curious why this vid...

    2025 KTM Freeride E

I don't expect major differences between the Husky and KTM, mostly graphics, it's just that I haven't found the same picture for the Freeride. Gotta say it's a very slow charger but still much better than carrying your bike stand around town!

    2025 KTM Freeride E

Agreed although for me there's one thing they actually did better than Stark

    Stark vin numbers

Yes I think they have sent an early batch to the US then started Europe deliveries a bit later with higher VINs.

    Do our Vargs actually, "regen"?

Was it at least 2%? If it's rising by 1% it could just be oscillating (for instance display says 30%, then 29% and back to 30% when in fact it's oscillating around 29.5%). Can't really think of a more practical test than long downhill but not sure how much you could supposedly regen.

Is the insurance priced as a 125, is it cheap?
