Not on my Alta, but just finished replacing the chain and changing the oil on my DRZ so took it out to the Boise foothills on a test ride. About 3 miles further up on the road it was blocked with snow. It was a nice evening ride though.

Can you wire a switch into the 9V circuit so you can disconnect it when the bike is not in use and kill any possibility of a parasitic drain?

I'm in. 7kw pack should give me about a 60 mile range on trails which would cover 95% of my riding.

Since the SM has a built in charger, will the external charger on an EX still work if we change to the SM FW? If so will the speed be the same or do the charging CAN commands slow down the charge because of the smaller SM charger?

Yes, plug the J1772 connector into the box and the adapter box will turn on the power from the EVSE providing power to the cord. Install a plug on the cord and you can use the 240Vac to power whatever you want, in this case a rapid charger.

Tuscon EV has J1772 adapters, all you have to do is add your plug of choice. I have never used any of their stuff so don't know how well it works. I used one of Modular Ev's adapters on my conversion and never had a problem connecting to my EVSE at home or public charging. Modular EV also...

The EVSE, public or private, only provide switched 240 Vac (level 2) or 120 Vac (level 1) power, they are not chargers. As @Rashid510 said you would need a hand shake box to turn the power on and then a charger for the bike.

If the charger is only 1.1kw does going to 240Vac have any charging speed benefit? A 15A, 120Vac outlet should be able to provide 1.8kw so is there any gain with 240Vac? Thanks
