Can you adjust the steering head angle and offset

Do not mix offset and trail. The offset is the distance between the steering axis and the center of the front wheel. The trail is the distance between the steering axis and the center of the front wheel's contact patch. Here are some reference links: Bicycle and motorcycle geometry -...

Can you adjust the steering head angle and offset

No, with the front axle in the most forward position the offset is the largest, but the caster trail is the shortest, and the bike is set up for cornering ease rather than a high-speed stability. Like Tuner said, more offset = less trail = less stability. And vice versa.

Fast charger to french type E plug

Looks pretty simple. Find a green ground wire and connect it to the plug's ground terminal. The other two wires should be connected to the round pins, the polarity shouldn't matter.

Can you adjust the steering head angle and offset

The other way around, if the offsets are 22mm stock and 18mm optional.

Can you adjust the steering head angle and offset

You take the triple clamps off the bike. Then, I think, you flip the eccentric steering stem washers around, and bam -- a different offset. So, if the stock offset is 22mm and the other offset is 18mm, then the optional offset creates a longer trail and more stable steering, right?

MXR Rear Shock v.1 vs. v.2

I played with the rear sag today. I ran 102mm sag before because all the tuners recommended 100-105 mm sag. I was unhappy that the bike was understeering mid-corners. To my shame I have never played with the sag before on any of the bike's that I owned. I kept hearing the advice to play with...

    Skid Plate for the Alta

Awesome! Now all the carbon fiber drooling guys will want your skid plate. Will you be making a dozen? Also, curious, will you be laying the carbon fiber on the outside or on the outside? Is it a mold or a plug?

How stiff can the EX get?

You can read your rear spring stiffness written right on the rear spring. The MX spring says "WP 63-265", which means 63 N/mm spring rate and 265mm length. Check yours and let us know. You might have to spin the spring around. The front spring should be proportional to that on the MX. Here are...

How stiff can the EX get?

This thread went off-topic but in a good way. I have created a second MXR rear shock specific thread here: MXR Rear Shock v.1 vs. v.2

MXR Rear Shock v.1 vs. v.2

Here are the illustrations of different MXR shocks: Exhibit 1 -- A bad shock from my first MXR VIN #323: Exhibit 2 -- A really good shock from my second MXR #445: As you can see, the part numbers are different. The bad shock ends with a "1". The really good shock from a newer bike ends...

    Rim Options, Triple Clamp Options?

The front hub is 14mm wider. You can use 7mm spacers on both sides, plus 7mm spacers to move the brake caliper inward.

How stiff can the EX get?

The EX uses the same suspension as the MX. I think even the spring rates are the same.

    Anaheim 2 Supercross Futures

Damn! This whole thing is so sketchy. So many things could have gone wrong. You did great. That rhythm section after the triple was the most difficult. You nailed the one right after it. You had to keep doubling and doubling, even though sometimes it looked impossible, else slamming into those...

Tires for the Northeast 24lhr Challenge

Last Saturday I went to do some rock crawling with a bunch of jeep guys here in Arizona. Had a Shinko Fatty in the front and a Dunlop MX52 120x80-19 in the rear. The pressures were not low, 15/12 psi front/rear, and I ran Tube Saddles in both tires to prevent rim dings and pinch flats when...

I'm locked in to race Supercross Futures at Anaheim 2!

Main or no main -- this is still pretty awesome. You got to run a practice and two full races on a real supercross track! From here on, if you want to improve at this, you just need to keep doing it. Today you confirmed that you are competitive.

    2019 NE 24hr Challenge July 20th & 21st 2019, Team AltaOwnersForum.com is Official!

I have a couple of wishes: 1) I want my name in a more conventional and readable font. 2) I do not want a team number on the back. It will be hidden under my chest protector and my camelbak anyway, and I want to be able to use this shirt for other racing, where my number is different.
