Are you sure about the need for a laptop? I thought you'd just take the battery apart, like @Mark911 did, and see a loose wire. :unsure:

It is not okay yet to start hacking the software/firmware -- it is still illegal -- but I wonder what can we start doing to fix the batteries and broken displays? Fixing the broken parts is all legal now, since Alta is unable to do anything about it. Fixing the battery is a mechanical...

One thing confuses me. The owner (forgot who that was, sorry) received a replacement display, but he still couldn't ride until he went to the dealer to either program or initialize it. Does it then mean it is more complex than soldering in a resistor?

The teams consist of six riders. You get to ride about 4 hours out of 24. This makes it more doable. Party or sleep while the bike recharges. It is going to be fun! I am going for sure.
