The idea of a smaller-than-standard bike is the one that made me hesitate the most. On the one hand, I do not want another 7/8 bike. On the other hand, I always thought that the 125cc was always too big of a bike for the available power, and the 85cc - 150cc was too small of a bike for me. Dust...

    Varg spring rates ?

Yeah, new forks cannot be judged until after they break in. It sounds like Stark has nailed the spring rates for me. Woods riders think the rates are too stiff, and faster MX riders think they are not stiff enough. Nobody is complaining about the front/rear balance. Very good! I am hoping to...

Can you have too many electric bikes?

Once the AI figures this out, this forum will be in trouble. On the flip side though, we won't have problems justifying buying more bikes anymore.

Any recommended Lock on grips for the Varg?

Lock-on grips is one thing that may not happen soon on electric bikes. Don't the lock-on grips come with an integrated throttle tube on the right hand side? I am not sure about the Stark Varg's throttle, but the Hirschmann throttle on the Alta is assembled together once and is not meant to be...

    Motor kit For balance bike

If they had it in stock, this controller should work. You would have to re-wire the throttle or buy a Stacyc throttle. https://www.hsmotorsports.net You could also buy a Stacyc controller. https://stacyc.com/collections/16edrive/products/brushless-motor-esc

    Motor kit For balance bike

So, the problem is the throttle lag when controlling a 20 VDC brushless motor? Would a "controller" from an electric hand drill work better? :)

    Stark Varg pinned!

I was really hoping that the Stark Varg detuned to a lower HP setting would give me a pinned 125cc riding experience...

    Motor kit For balance bike

It looks like the battery is 20V. Would two batteries wired in series blow up the bike? @DonCox "Grommy uses lightweight, bespoke batteries that can be easily swapped over. 80 Wh, 4 Ah quick change battery has a run time of 60 minutes and a charging time of 60 minutes"...

    Motor kit For balance bike

Someone, please post a link to this bike. The MONDRAKER BIKES US website doesn't seem to have it, and Google search results give errors. Usually, for simple systems, more voltage would give more acceleration. Try a higher-voltage battery.

I'd agree that a 2.8 kWh battery won't last 30 minutes in racing conditions, but it might last about 10-15 minutes, which is a typical MX practice session or a short local race. It should also last about an hour of leisurely riding. It appears that they are aiming to be an American Surron...

    Dust Moto

I contacted Colin Godby, the CEO of Dust Moto. He clarified some of the questions. The battery will be swappable. It is already swappable in their Alpha prototype. The final suspension is TBD, possibly custom-made. The current components, the fork from a KTM 85SX (WP), and the rear shock...
