    EX Custom iOS/Android App

Norway weights in 😁 Great to have so many nationalities around the table. Even if that does not really help understanding the peculiarities of the English language 😉 @Philip : I guess US is the largest contingent of forum members (english language and starting as a Alta forum), could you give...

    EX Custom iOS/Android App

Help me out here. I understand bypassing would mean entirely replacing one step in the process (for instance if the signal never went to VCU), how would you call adding an extra step in the process (as is the case here), would that be piggybacking?

    EX Custom iOS/Android App

Well there's no direct connection between throttle and VCU anymore, it goes through clutch CU where it's modified (combined to clutch input with clutch algorithm) before going to VCU. So now the information fed to the VCU is not purely throttle input as intended by Stark. So ok, not bypassing...

    EX Custom iOS/Android App

It's bypassing Stark VCU to write its own input using its own algorithm "The power signal from the throttle and the clutch signal from the clutch lever run into the RARE control unit. There throttle and clutch are combined and, as one precise power signal, sent to the Varg." "After the clutch...

    Stark Varg burned

Looks legit. On the web I've seen one Varg burnt in Belgium (or was it the Netherlands?), then one idiot street riding crash (in Brazil?) where the fall punctured the phone battery. I wonder if we would ever know what happened here. At least it didn't explode, you can pretty much count the...

    Stark Varg MX1.2 range thread

Obviously I had forgotten about the actual first range vid at Golf MX with Carson Brown and MTB champion Loïc Bruni 34 min, 56 min and 1h17 for pro, amateur and beginner on this track.

    Stark Varg MX1.2 range thread

Time to empty battery Pro 38 min Amateur 1h23min Beginner 1h32min Hicks had 9% left after 34 min, anyway, race results are more reliable data for pros. Most amateurs should get at least 1h on hardpack tracks, how does it track with your riding?

    Stark Varg MX1.2 range thread

Ever important topic, we have an EX range thread, battery is the same but use is probably different. Here is the first Stark official range vid for MX1.2 Settings: 48 hp, 40% regenerative braking Track: Vallgorguina (Spain) hardpack Riders: Michael Hicks, pro SX2 rider George Ntavoutian...

    Varg production numbers / VIN

Kaplan says he has sold 66 Vargs in a single month, sounds pretty good. I wonder how his Varg sales compare to his KTM, Husky or Gasgas sales.

In 2026 there will be an electric class in the World MX Championship

Starks factory riders had been racing the 7.2 kWh battery about 6 months before MX1.2 release, that's all there is to it. That's how Herbreteau finished 30 min MX Elite pro races, all 12 of them this year.

    Honda WN7 (Wind Naked, Fun)

Guesstimating from "under 3 h full charging with type 2 6 kW charger" and super heavy weight I'll say possibly close to Zero 17 kWh as a maximum value. No idea if stated range is city, highway or whatever so could be closer to Him-E 12-14 kWh. With CCS2 you probably don't need a very large...

In 2026 there will be an electric class in the World MX Championship

They've had pro riders riding and racing the bike for 2 years now in the UK, France, US..., they now have a mountain of data on various tracks in MX, SX, AX. They've just had their first full season racing France MX Elite, they have a private track where their riders churn gazillions of laps...

In 2026 there will be an electric class in the World MX Championship

You don't fund a startup if you want to avoid risk. You don't compete at the highest level if you're afraid of losing. I get what you're saying Erwin, it makes perfect sense but that's not their way of thinking 😉

In 2026 there will be an electric class in the World MX Championship

They did use "works" batteries in AX UK, they removed some cells to lighten the bike. Not sure if they're still doing that.

    Honda WN7 (Wind Naked, Fun)

    It doesn't seem vastly different from the competition like the Zero S (60 hp, 132 Nm, 223 kg, 17.3 kWh, 160 km highway range, 240 km city range, 17 790€). I see 2 major differences: 1. CCS2 charging 2. It's a Honda

    Honda WN7 (Wind Naked, Fun)

We do know a bit more about the bike, its official name is WN7. W stands for wind, n for naked, 7 for the power range. 130 km / 80 miles claimed range 20% to 80% charging in 30 min (thanks to CCS2) 18 kW (24 hp) nominal power (A1 version at 11 kW) 50 hp peak power 217 kg Liquid...

In 2026 there will be an electric class in the World MX Championship

I don't think they planned a separate MXEP electric class to race 30+2. After FIM WSX 11 min races, the next logical step for Stark will be AMA SX 22 min races, should be no problem for the range. AMA MX and MXGP 35 min races would be the real test, and once you have much more data on +20 min...

In 2026 there will be an electric class in the World MX Championship

Indeed, it's very explicit in some rules (I think it's in Australia) that electrics are allowed but that race duration and the like must not be changed to accommodate them. And there's no need anyway for 25 + 2 laps which I believe most countries run ? Ok Erwin, except for sand tracks 😁
