Yet another CRF 250 Build but its my first so... ;)

I'm helping my friend Mark as he mounts his new Amorge battery. This is the 2005 CRF we purchased from @DonCox. Here are pics showing the battery mounting process.

another Honda CR-e build?, nope its a Suzy!

A while back I received questions about how I secure the top side of my battery. I'm running a 2 inch wide nylon strap over the top with an over-center latch. Under the nylon strap is a 2mm thick EVA foam pad. Here a couple of photos of the whole set up.

Hey Jim, I love your approach. A template makes it so easy to configure the battery layout. I built a template should anyone need it. Attached are images. Message me and I'm happy to email a full scale PDF and or DXF file that can be plotted, or brought into a CAD system. I hope this helps...

    2023 Honda CRF250R with QS138 70H V3 Motor and EM260S Controller

Hello @Jim Beagle I had my Amorge battery built with an internal BMS and BMS controlled discharge. As a novice builder, I felt the simplicity of the internal BMS outweighed the benefits of reduced heat buildup. We will see how it goes as time goes on. Best, Dave

Hello @DonCox, you are completely right about the heat transfer and the need to secure the battery. The battery on my mount has a small gap with EVA foam between the motor and the mount. Like @bayodome did with his YZ, the bottom cradle secures the battery very tightly. Over the top I'm running...

Wow what a difference! I went through several different settings. Balancing the right amounts of engine braking and soft start make the throttle response so much more pleasant. Now I'm able to roll up to slow speed obstacles and gently torque my way over them. Over rolling bumps I can now...

I'll enable the soft start and lower the number. I will let you know the results. Thank you @DonCox

I'm struggling with the oversensitivity of the Surron throttle that came with my E&C kit. I purchased and received an QS e-cable throttle assembly. Are there any tricks to connecting it to my Votol EM 260?

Thank you @fmxxx666 for the guidance. I'm in the process of building another EMX bike. I plan to buy a X-9000 controller with the QS 138 wiring. I'd love to see photos of your set up as you progress. You have a place to stay should you ever plan on a visiting us here in California.

Hello @fmxxx666 How is your build coming along? I'm curious about your EBMX controller. What are you using to switch between power levels? The E&C kit with the Votol controller uses as shown in the attached photo. What does the EBMX control use for switching between power levels? Perhaps the...

@DonCox it looks like my battery will drop right into your old CRF 450 chassis. We started on the modified battery mount this morning.

Thank you @halg . I modeled everything in 3D CAD and CNC cut all the pieces. Then I TIG welded everything together. Across the bottom are two 3/4" aluminum bars that bolt in to support the base of the battery. Everything is super solid.
