True. I'm not against swappable. But it does introduce the possibility of errors. There are always tradeoffs. But you also never know if some new tech might come out and flip everything on its head.

Could be DMV put it in the system as motorcycle which is what you need to plate it. If they put it in as dirt bike, then it shouldn't come up in the system as needing insurance.

Mine was showing neutral on the screen and no speedo, but was fully rideable....weird. None of the up/down buttons made a difference. It was like the display was frozen. I power cycled it later and it went back to working like normal.
