Hello Everyone,
My son and I are converting a 2005 Honda CRF250R.
QSJ138A-70H V3 motor with Build not Bought mounts
Fardriver ND72680 controller
Amorge CRF250 Battery 72V 65AH

We just received our battery today in the the process of fitting it. We have it as low as we can go but the tank and seat are higher than expected. Does anyone have some picture of how much of the tank they cut off? I was thinking of cutting the back part of the tank off between the seat mount bolt and the tank hold down bolt. In one of the pictures I put a yellow pencil approximately where I was think of cutting it. We really appreciate any advice as this is our first build. Thank you

I had to drop the motor as low as possible which caused me to lose the bottom mounting bolt (still mounted in 3 locations)

I also had to do a little “heat forming” of the top of the tank. Basically, mounted the battery where it needed to go, heated up the tank where the battery was hitting on the underside/inside of the tank, and pressed down on it until it cooled. My seat and tank still sit about 1/4-1/2” higher thank original mounting. But doesn’t cause an issue.

Let me know and I can take some more pictures if you’d like.

Thank you very much for your reply. Can you please send some more pictures:
-side of your tank
-back of your tank with the seat removed from
-the rear tank where it was cut out
-close up of the heat forming

Are you using the factory hold down strap for the tank? Or did you make something else?
