Codes “stopped 103” and “waiting for something else” on SM model.

Hi guys, new to the forum and new to my 2018 Alta SM.
So having just bought it a couple of weeks ago fully charged and with no reports of problems from the previous owner, I went to charge it for the first time this morning and I’m getting the “stopped 103” code. After doing a search here on the forum it seems either a change of outlets or an update have been the previous resolutions. I’ve tried garage, house and house with GFCI still with no luck.
I then plugged it into my Sprinter van, which has a strong solar system (which charges my Stark) and it said “waiting for something else” on the screen, the same message I got when I tried a different extension cord to the house outlet.

I’m in Murrieta in SoCal so if it turns out I need some kind of software update, is there anybody local to me that has the tools to be able to carry that out by chance?
So bummed, I just want to ride the thing now that the rain has stopped!😬
Thanks in advance
Pip.

Update: it now just says “waiting for something else” no matter where I plug it into. I can’t even find a thread that mentions this code!

In order to charge from a van or a generator, you usually need to "bond your neutral to ground", which means just adding a tiny thin jumper wire between the Ground on your 110V plug and the Neutral pin. Be careful not to connect it to Hot.

Yes, the sprinter van was just a lash resort to see if I could get anything but no go.
As mine is the SM version with the built-in charger, I’m not sure if there’s a GFCI to remove in there.

I just took it over to my friend‘s house which is a much newer construction than mine, tried again and got the same “stopped 103” code.
At least it returned to that code from the “waiting for something else” message.
I’m now down to one flashing bar of battery life and I’m assuming once the battery dies completely, I’ll no longer even have codes to read? Help!😬😬

If it were my bike, I'd try physically grounding the SM frame metal to a cold water pipe or other definitely-earth ground, using a separate wire. A lot of things other than AC line power can affect electronic devices & data transfer.

If the output of the AC outlets is properly configured, it's quite possible that your On-Board Charger (OBC) has failed. This is not common on the SM, but we did see it. Seeing that you've checked more than one outlet (you might buy one of those $10 circuit testers from Home Depot just to verify the output is proper), I'd guess you may have an OBC issue. Raakesh (Rashid510) may have parts.

Thanks for your response, I was dreading that answer! 😕 I’ve reached out to Rashid so hopefully I hear something back.
So to your knowledge, nothing to do with a GFCI in the charger?
Is there anyone in the SoCal area that can work on these things? Everything looks completely foreign to me and I’m pretty desperate at this point to be able to ride my bike.
Any help greatly appreciate it!

My SM is very picky about charging. Sometimes it will charge on my solar inverter and sometimes it won't it won't charge if I am charging my Rav4 Prime. Sometimes it will keep on popping the GFCI. If I charge it with my gas generator with a neutral bonding plug it will usually be happy. This is the most finicky bike to charge.

Do you know if your bike has the latest firmware?
