Dust Moto

Update: I let the Dust web developer know it says 235lb at least three places on their site and no where did I see it say 220lb/100kg.

Yes, saw that AI response posted earlier. I went back and forth with their AI bot three or four times and that is what initiated them informing their website developer.

But a typical website viewer will see the wrong weight (three times) and not think, "I should ask AI if that is correct". Ha. So it's in their best interest to correct the error(s).

Sloppy that they have only the incorrect weight all over their site since that is a key piece of data just like battery capacity, etc. Not like it's a typo in a single place. You'd think someone at the company would have noticed that by now, and corrected, if 100kg/220lb has been the known production weight for a while. They seem to pay attention to details in most things for such a simple thing to be incorrect. Ah well. Maybe my message will instigate their correcting it.

Since I had edited that in, I wasn’t sure if you saw it.
But yes, they should definitely correct it, because it would be make or break for me.
Hopefully, they’re not achieving that weight by using beach ball inner tubes!

Ha. Exactly. And, as we've all discovered with all bikes, sometime the feel is very different than what the spec sheet suggests. Cockpit feel/room can vary a lot based on orientation, not just height between seat and pegs, weight feels different depending g on center of gravity and overall height, etc.

Will be fun to throw a leg over a Dust to see for myself before I replace my Varg in a year or two. Currently I'm assuming for a Varg MX 1.2 with enduro suspension, but will be fun to see what all is available then as I'm completely open to go with another brand.

Maybe by then, some dirtbike company will use the new Donut brand solid state batteries and we'll shave off 10lbs while adding 20 miles of range. Boom!
Whoa. I hadnt heard of donut. Gotta check it out.

Verge Motorcycles had already designed their electric streetbikes using the Donut Lab hub motors, but they announced they are also now going to deliver with the Donut Lab solid state batteries. Will see how they work out in the real world, but some companies finally seem to be cracking the "solid state battery" nut. There are a few small products, that use solid state batteries, already available retail, but just now hitting powersports and can't some soon enough (once all the bugs are worked out and price is competitive....all of which Donut Lab says they have figured out. We'll see).

Any real date on when these dust moto bikes will really be ready to be purchased? First it was summer of 25’. Then end of 25’. After that the latest I saw was Q1 26! It seems by the time these bikes come out they might of missed there window. With Yamaha showing up and Altis omega. And even talk Stark coming out with a smaller version. Not to mention Bonnell, etc.
