I thought it might be nice to have all this in one place. I also added tubliss, the warp9 kick stand, 13 tooth sprocket, gummy tires, turned in the steering stops and a few other small things I left off the list. Suspension is really the main thing to have to be changed but that's a whole topic in itself. I hope any of this helps others in the same boat.

Better skid plate with linkage protection.
I am against carbon. I know it's light weight but it gets beat up, expensive and its loud as hell when it gets hit. Someone really needs to make a plastic full wrap one.
CMT Compositi | Carbon skidplate for Stark Varg Stark Varg 2023 - 2024 - 2025

Front of battery that is oddly left vulnerable between skid plate and fender.
I plan to make this from scratch.

Front disc guard.
SHERCO FRONT DISC GUARD FOR KYB FORKS 2019-2025
or

Rear disc guard.
This seems to work with all the newer KTM parts? On my other KTM I have the oversized rear rotor as it does help with the LHRB grabbing. In which case the NiceCNC combo fits the bill.
Oversized 240mm Rear Brake Rotor Kit For KTM Husqvarna GasGas

lighter weight option

Lower fork guards/feet.
Sherco Fork Lug Guard (KYB) This is a matched part to their front disc guard. Otherwise just get plastic ones.

or

Swingarm guards.
Again, I only see carbon. No thanks. Any plastic ones out there yet?

Bark busters.
I use Cycra probend with the T2 mounts on all my bikes. I'm not 100% sure what bars Stark uses but I will know if these work shortly.

Frame protection.
Those cheap graphics or film don't hold up. We need good plastics!

Gearbox protection.
I see the cheapo plastic which will work for abrasion, but given the vulnerability of that case I think this needs to be integrated into the skid plate.
Engine and gearbox cover protection (Stark VARG)

Upper fork guards.
I'm gonna try these. I also have had great luck with the Dingos on my KTM.
Acerbis Upper Fork Guards | Parts & Accessories | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

best ones

Chain guide/guard.
Stark Varg Chain Guide Mount

Softer seat.
I just got a reply from Seat Concepts saying:

"Thank you for your email! We are currently working on the Stark Varg 2023+ - Race 2.0 - Comfort - Foam and Cover Kit, it should be coming out in the next week or so."

Foot pegs.
Evolution 4 Footpegs - Fastway

I can confirm the evolution pegs from my 2021 KTM 300 XCW fit but you need to order a $20 fit kit that has new springs and some washers. Since it's difficult to raise the bars with a standard 30mm riser it's nice having lowered pegs if you're taller like me. The issue with raising the bars is the wire to the docking station is way too short!

Feel free to add anything you feel is necessary to armor up the Varg to take on a river bed of steep rocks. I know it adds a little weight but I'd rather not have a rock leave me stranded.

Stegz Pegz.

Ridiculous what CMT is charging for that skid plate. Wouldn’t matter if it was $100 for me though, I’m not putting a CF skid on a hard enduro bike.

I’d add some mousse bibs to the list but don’t wanna start the bib v tubliss v tube discussion.

Here's the latest to my Varg mods. I will certainly have a few iterations to get it perfect. And by then I'm sure one of the big companies will have something available. I feel much better dropping my bike on the hills and watching it slide around. I added 1/4" felt to the inside of the plastic where it touches the gear case.

The linkage guard. Is that attaching to the existing holes in he plastic guard?

No. It's easy as can be. Just made two holes behind the cross member. I then melted away the foam so I could get a socket around the nut. If you take the skid plate off it should be pretty clear how to do this. You could even put another bolt up in front of the cross member. But 2 is fine.

So how is the bike for Hard Enduro? With the price drop I am trying to talk myself out of buying one. My current bike and love it
2016 KTM 150sx set up for Tech single track. I really want one for stealth ridding.

You definitely need a revalve for sure... For single track and technical stuff. But that's not expensive, at least not in the UK. Having the maps you can setup different maps for different riding conditions and this truly is great as it can be done on the fly within a second.
Love mine and I'm about to get a shop to revalve the stock suspension as I think it's on the harsh side. It shines on bumpy fast sections you can really hammer it but on slow tech stuff you feel the harshness.

Eddie Karlsson was leading the Red Bull Los Andes with just over 1 lap remaining. He completely destroyed his rear tire and spent a good half hour in the toughest long steep climb. That also meant he ran out of juice some 100m from the finish. Still finished 3rd (don't know if leaving the track and changing battery caused a DQ but he got the trophy).
Billy Bolt was DNF also due to a completely destroyed rear.
The two guys ahead of Eddie are from Chile and has done this event many times so I guess they had a betterunderstanding about tire wear than our Euro guys.

So. I guess it works excellent :)

The number one mod for enduro would definitely be to revalve the stock suspension... I've done mine in the UK with a reputable shop and it's the best thing that I can think of... Bike feels so much more compliant and it glides of small bumps and it's just phenomenal...

I broke the Varg Skid Plate over the weekend in a Desert Wash. I barely hit it on a rock ledge going down. I ordered the AXP Skid Plate on 12/15/2024 and it arrived today 12/18/2024.

Let me make sure I have got this right, So there is a gap between the bottom of the battery and the guard not filled with the original foam, or any other foam?
The only fixing at the front are the 2 short 8mm bolts in to the battery case?
