I rode yesterday and as usual I needed to do a fast re-charge to be able to finish my day. When I plugged in my charger powered in the parking lot by my 7 kw inverter generator, I saw this new 6.6 kw setting show up for the first time. This is on a 2025 (Gen 2) 1.0 MX.
My generator shows its output on a digital display.
I can confirm that it was only consuming 3500 watts even though I set it at max 6.6.
I sometimes ride with a buddy with the same bike as mine and we always charge both bikes together with a Y splitter and on those days we set both bikes at 2.7-3 kw because a full fast charge can sometimes be a tad much amp draw to keep up with both bikes on this generator.
Anyway my point is on those days my gen will show the total draw closer to 5600-6000 depending on what we set them at. I think this proves that the stock Varg stand charger can only put out a max of 3300-3500 so unless you have a higher output charger then I don’t think this new increase in output on your Stark phone will translate into any more actual charging speed than the current chargers max output is.
Obviously they are planning to offer a higher output in the future and are likely already using them for in house testing bikes and related racing support.
If Stark has decided it won’t hurt the batteries to double the charge speed then I’m all for it but frankly the set up I use as is works for me. With a 30 min lunch break I can get enough charge back to finish out my day with just enough to never get in trouble. Once back at home I just put it on the slow charge setting set to stop at 85 % and then will do a morning top off to 100% the day of my next ride.
