Looking for 3d model of upper triple clamp.

My 3d scans are horribly cluttered with unwanted geometry. I thought I would ask in the off chance someone had a model they wouldn't mind sharing with me. Stark, of course, was unwilling to share that.

What scanner are you using? I don't do my own scans but in the past when I've had a 3rd party do them and send me the point cloud data to work with, they usually have to spray a non reflective coating on the part especially if it's shiny. Not sure if that could be your issue.

I do this kind of work but not sure you're looking to hire it out. Depending how your scan looks, I might be able to clean it up and convert to a solid 3D model.

Not sure what you need the file for, but for triple clamps I'd usually look at having at least the hole centers measured with CMM.

I just tried reality scan, not a dedicated scanner. If it were for motion graphics it would be fine. The UV mapping is near perfect. It's really pretty amazing actually. But when you take the mapping away, the geometry is so complicated I don't even want to mess with it. Honestly I could do this manually from 2d imaging and get what I want. But just thought I'd ask the group if someone had this floating around. I'm pretty fluid with Rhino and can do this if I have to. I'm just lazy

Do you have any CAD software? I can completely recommend solidworks student edition (or veteran edition, if you are active/former duty). It takes a bit to learn, but you can mock up just about anything really quick with it.

Yeah I'm fluent in Rhino 3d and decided to draw it up manually. My original idea was more complicated and required a more accurate model but I got a solution now. Thanks.

This is gen 1. Gen 2 is made from TPU which actually turned out to be too flexible. The holes need slits to be able to slide the wires in as the connectors are obviously way bigger than the wires. I may try a 2 part thing that locks together. It's purpose is mainly to be able to wash the bike without worrying about water blasting in there. So it doesn't have to be water tight, just water resistant. I also siliconed the connectors inside which more or less protects everything. I had a weird error code a while back so I am paranoid about any water now. Same went for the map switch. As soon as I siliconed inside and out I haven't had a single issue washing the bike. Still working on a file I can share for others to 3d print.

Looks good. Thanks for sharing pics. I pressure wash my bikes cause I'm lazy, even though I know it can be bad for pushing dirt places it shouldn't go. So having something like this seems a good idea.

If nothing else shove a small piece of cloth down there. You really should not use a pressure washer. I did all the time on my KTM and never had a single issue. On this bike there are all kinds of areas that don't agree with water. Try spraying Pam or cooking spray on your plastics. It's amazing how well it works. the other day I didnt even wash my bike and I came into the garage the next morning to find 20 lbs of clay fell off under its own weight.
