Pros and Cons to moving the screen module

Hello,

I moved the screen module behind the upper frame. I would like to hear any pros or cons to keeping it here. I haven't fully moved it there and will need to add padding and zipties but this locations seems like a very protected spot. Does anyone think there will be issues? Thermal?

I think placing the screen in about that location has been discussed here before, I don't recall anyone finding a problem with it. However looking at your other modifications, I'm not sure I would recommend that particular placement for the front break caliper.

I can't think of any cons as long as it's adequately secured.

Nice work, I'm always nervous about trashing the screen on my MXR.

Would be awesome if a small sacrificial screen could be mounted up near/on the bars like a small KTM speedo or something to display an odometer function and state of charge.

I secured it to the cross support. The second photo is the placement of something reflective that I plan to put there allowing me to see the screen without bending over. I padded all sides with foam and put plexiglass over the screen. I used zip ties fastened to the existing two bolts on the rear side of the module to keep it in place. It feels very snug.

There is plenty of room. It would be easier to install if the battery was out. I created a padded backing / siding that was like oregomy and folded into place once everything was in there. A nice 3d printed mold with internal padding would be nice though. Definitely would have to remove the battery to get it in place.

Much easier haha. I wanted to put a bar pad on the bars that was my main objective. Also it is nice that it will be cozy and protected haha

I think I am going to move mine to behind the number plate, sideways so you can view the screen through the fork tubes when you turn right..

You using the two upper front number plate holes for the bracket? kinda like a cradle?

I was going to do something like that, but instead I decided to make a mount that just screws(4, M6 counter sunk screws) to the number plate only..

My thinking here was....

1. Screen mount could be smaller and lighter..
2. The numberplate mounting seems pretty supportive so the little weight on it should be ok.
3. If you DO take a hit to the number plate the screen can move with it.
4. Still super easy to take off the number plate, but screen will come with it.

Screen will be on it's side rotated 90* you need to look through between the fork tube and headtube, sideways, to see it..

Hardest part was getting the wires positioned, so they clear everything behind the plate when turning!

Not that's a clever solution! But i actually enjoy being able to see my screen right infront of me instead of having to go look for it in a sense.

Totally get ya!! For me I want to put on a normal crossbar pad, and the flashing light kinda bugs me haha.

101stunt your bike is cool looking - it must have been a lot of work to powder coat the frame and other parts - how does it hold up to riding wear and tear
